PVN Takes Active Role as Facilitator and Speaker in Iloilo Provincial Youth Convergence
Iloilo City - The Proyekto Volunteers Network (PVN) played a significant role in the successful conduct of the Bida Kabataang Ilonggo: The First Iloilo Provincial Youth Convergence, held at the Grand Xing Imperial Hotel. The organization served both as a facilitating team and as a resource speaker, highlighting its growing involvement in youth governance and development initiatives across Iloilo Province.
The convergence, spearheaded by the Provincial Youth Development Office of Provincial Government of Iloilo, brought together youth leaders, partner organizations, and institutional stakeholders for a full-day engagement focused on collaboration, policy dialogue, and youth empowerment. PVN was among the key organizations tapped to facilitate the teambuilding and interactive sessions, where they guided participants through activities designed to strengthen teamwork, leadership, and collective action among Iloiloโs youth sector.
The PVN delegation was composed of Chairman Daniel โKuya Dโ Agan, Corporate Treasurer and PYDC Representative Erwin Militar, PA1 Program Director Joy Penetrante, and PA3 Program Director Marlon Fernandez. Their participation underscored PVNโs active membership in the Iloilo Provincial Youth Development Council (PYDC) and its continuing role in supporting youth development programs in the province.
A major highlight of the convergence was the plenary talks, where PVN Chairman Daniel โKuya Dโ Agan served as one of the resource speakers. In his presentation, he introduced PVN as a non-stock, non-profit, volunteer-driven, and inclusive organization rooted in the legacy of Youth Proyekto Philippines. He emphasized that PVN is more than a volunteer group, describing it as a platform that develops leaders, strengthens communities, and promotes sustainable action aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Kuya D further discussed PVNโs guiding framework anchored on three core pillars: SERVE, LEAD, and UPLIFT. He explained that SERVE focuses on service, equity, responsibility, volunteerism, and empowerment; LEAD emphasizes learning, excellence, action, development, and leadership; while UPLIFT highlights unity, partnership, leadership, inclusion, fellowship, and transformation. He stressed that these principles are embedded in all PVN programs and initiatives, shaping both its culture and impact.
He also highlighted PVNโs leadership development approach through its Young Leaders Academy, which provides structured training and formation opportunities for volunteers. According to him, PVNโs model ensures that volunteers do not only participate in community service but are also equipped to grow into capable leaders through experience, mentorship, and capacity-building opportunities. He likewise emphasized the organizationโs commitment to data-driven, community-based, and impact-oriented programming.
The convergence also featured key sessions from various stakeholders, including representatives from the National Youth Commission, local government units, and partner organizations. Discussions centered on youth policies, development programs, and collaborative initiatives, alongside presentations and interactive engagements that strengthened multi-sectoral cooperation in youth governance.
The event gathered hundreds of youth participants across Iloilo Province who actively engaged in plenary discussions and commitment-building activities designed to strengthen provincial youth development efforts.
PVNโs participation as both facilitator and speaker underscored its expanding role in shaping youth leadership and governance in the province. Through its involvement in program implementation and policy dialogue, the organization reaffirmed its commitment to empowering young leaders, strengthening partnerships, and advancing inclusive development.

ECCD Council Lauds Iloilo's CYDC Initiative
The Iloilo Provincial Government unveiled plans for the establishment of a Child and Youth Development Center (CYDC), an initiative developed through the collaborative efforts of the Office of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer (OPSWDO) and the Office of the Provincial Youth Development Officer (OPYDO).
The initiative received commendation from Dr. Teresita G. Inciong, Vice-Chairperson and Executive Director of the Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) Council, during the Iloilo Provincial Youth Convergence held on June 2, 2026, at the Grand Xing Imperial Hotel.
In her message, Dr. Inciong emphasized the significance of the project, stating:
"We commend the Province of Iloilo for the unveiling of this Child and Youth Development Center. This is a significant milestone that demonstrates the provinceโs dedication to supporting children and youth through integrated and responsive programs. This initiative serves as a testament to what can be achieved when local government and development partners work together toward a shared vision of inclusive and sustainable development."
The proposed CYDC is anchored on Governor Arthur R. Defensor, Jr.โs MoRProGRess Iloilo development agenda and aims to foster the holistic growth of Ilonggo children and youth by providing accessible, responsive, and development-oriented programs and services.
