Poblacion, Caluya, Antique today, 14 May 2026.

The activity is part of the continuing maritime regulatory and safety initiatives aimed at strengthening vessel monitoring and ensuring that watercrafts are properly identified, accounted for, and compliant with maritime safety standards.

๐—ช๐—ต๐—ฎ๐˜ ๐—ถ๐˜€ ๐—ฆ๐—ฆ๐—˜๐—ก?
The Safety, Security and Environmental Numbering (SSEN) System is a maritime identification and monitoring mechanism that assigns a unique number to motorbancas. This system serves as an official reference for each vessel, enabling authorities to easily identify, track, and validate compliance records of watercraft operating within the area of responsibility.

The SSEN system is designed to improve coordination between maritime enforcement units and local stakeholders by ensuring that all registered vessels are properly documented and visible in the maritime safety database.

During the conduct of the activity, Coast Guard personnel affixed and recorded the SSEN marking on the motorbanca while also providing reminders to the operator regarding compliance with safety regulations and responsible maritime operations.

Coast Guard Station Antique emphasized that the SSEN System will continue to be implemented across coastal municipalities as part of its commitment to safer seas, stronger maritime security, and environmental protection.

Maritime stakeholders are encouraged to support and comply with the SSEN System as part of collective efforts to ensure safe and secure maritime transport.

As part of the 43rd CGDWV Founding Anniversary pre-activities, Coast Guard Weapons, Communications, Electronics and Information System Western Visayas Regional Center (CGWCEIS WV RC) led by LTJG ARNEL G CASIANO PCG has officially activated the Radio Repeater at PTV Guimaras on 12 May 2026.

Through the signed Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), this will provide enhanced radio coverage and improve the reliability of communication networks for all emergency response, maritime search and rescue, maritime law enforcement, and for the coastal communities. CGWCEIS WV RC also conducted comprehensive radio signal testing in coordination with vessels and Coast Guard units across the region, validating extended coverage over the outermost maritime routes and archipelagic waters within CGDWVโ€™s area of responsibility.

This activation and installation was undertaken in line with the directive of ADM RONNIE GIL L GAVAN PCG, Commandant, Philippine Coast Guard (CPCG) to further improve, expand communication reach and reliability of the Maritime Distress Call Monitoring and Radio Communication System by installing Radio Repeater.

Furthermore, this initiative forms strong partnership and collaborative efforts between the PCG and PTNI in promoting public service and maritime safety for the Nation.
