In celebration of National Womenโ€™s Month, the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) Region VI/VII proudly honors the invaluable role of women in preserving culture, leading communities, and advancing the welfare of Indigenous Peoples.

Across the country, Indigenous women continue to stand as pillars of wisdom, resilience, and compassion, serving as community leaders, keepers of Indigenous Knowledge Systems and Practices (IKSP), educators, mothers, and advocates for the rights and well-being of their peoples.

Like the Babaylans of our history, Filipina women continue to inspire through their wisdom, courage, and unwavering commitment to their communities and to the protection of culture and tradition.

NCIP joins the nation in recognizing and celebrating the contributions of women, especially Indigenous Women, whose leadership and strength continue to guide, empower, and uplift their communities.
