The College of International Tourism and Hospitality Management of Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation Candelaria Inc., Quezon Province brought their 2nd Year Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management students to Iloilo City for an enriching off-campus activity last April 12, 2026.
As part of their itinerary, students explored Iloilo City’s cultural and historical treasures—immersing themselves in the city’s vibrant tourism landscape and gastronomy.
The Office of the Iloilo City Tourism and Development Officer proudly shared with the students the city’s tourism assets, products, and developments, while also highlighting the warmth of Ilonggo Hospitality —a celebration of faith, gratitude, and inclusivity that continues to define Iloilo City as a premier tourist destination.
This collaboration reflects the strong partnership between academe and local government in nurturing future tourism leaders, ensuring that learning goes beyond the classroom and into the heart of the community.

The College of Hospitality and Tourism Management of Northern Iloilo State Univeristy - Sara Campus organized an enriching educational city tour and invited the Office of the Iloilo City Tourism and Development Officer to deliver a three-batch lecture last March 26, April 12 and April 16, 2026 to their students.
Through this collaboration, students gained valuable insights into Iloilo City’s tourism products and assets, discovering how heritage, culture, and community-driven initiatives shape the city as a vibrant destination.
Ms. Rembelle P. Hormillosa, Tourism Operations Officer I also proudly shared the Program, a hallmark of Ilonggo hospitality that embodies faith, gratitude, and inclusivity—values that inspire future tourism leaders to serve with heart.
This partnership reflects the strong bond between academe and local government in nurturing the next generation of tourism professionals.

Benchmarking & Knowledge Sharing in Tourism
The Office of the City Tourism and Development Officer warmly welcomed the Liga ng mga Barangay of Tabaco City, Albay for a meaningful benchmarking visit last April 20, 2026.
During the exchange, our office shared insights on Iloilo’s tourism developments, heritage initiatives, and community-driven programs, including the Program—a celebration of Ilonggo hospitality that highlights faith, gratitude, and inclusivity in tourism.
This knowledge-sharing activity reflects our commitment to inclusive growth, ensuring that best practices in tourism management, heritage conservation, and community engagement are passed on to fellow local government units.

Iloilo City is currently experiencing a rising heat index. The Office of the City Tourism and Development Officer strongly advises all visitors and tourists to limit outdoor exposure especially during peak sun hours, stay hydrated and follow health protocols to prevent exhaustion or heat stroke.

West Visayas State University BSTM students joined the DOT6 Site Guiding Seminar, gaining meaningful insights to prepare them as future tourism professionals.
Resource speaker Ms. Rembelle P. Hormillosa, Tourism Operations Officer I of the Office of City Tourism and Development Officer (OCTDO) shared inspiring perspectives on Iloilo City’s local tourism products and services—from heritage houses and adaptive reuse venues to culinary traditions, cultural festivals and Ilonggo Hospitality “AMOMA”.
Her talk highlighted how storytelling, creativity, and inclusivity can transform tour guiding into a powerful tool for promoting Iloilo City”s identity.
Being part of this activity also reflects the OCTDO’s continued commitment to promoting local culture, heritage, and sustainable tourism development in Iloilo City.
