A 𝗗𝗧𝗥 (𝗗𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗱) 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗸𝘀, 𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗲𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗲𝗲’𝘀 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀 that is mostly generated via biometric scanners or computerized software. It helps, especially in government offices, in ensuring salaries, leave credits, and other benefits are properly processed.

Importance of submitting DTR on time:
✅ 𝗣𝗮𝘆𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗹 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴: Ensures timely and uninterrupted disbursement of salaries and wages.
✅ 𝗔𝘂𝗱𝗶𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗟𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲: Satisfies regulatory requirements (such as Civil Service Commission and/or Department of Labor rules).
✅ 𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝘁𝘀 & 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴: Provides the basis for accurate leave credits, overtime, and associated benefits.

At MGB Region VI, personnel are required to submit their DTRs within five (5) working days from receipt thereof, pursuant to the Memorandum dated June 5, 2024, entitled “Reminder for the Timely Submission of DTR and Leave Application Forms.”

Pursuant to Memorandum Circular No. 136 from the Office of the President declaring the Observance of the National Family Week and “Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga” Day, MGB Regional Office No. 6 will be implementing a half-day work schedule on Monday, September 28, 2026.

Please be advised that our operating office hours on September 28, 2026 will start from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM and will be suspended effective 1:00 PM onwards.

As we observe the 34th National Family Week, we encourage all personnel and valued clients to take this opportunity to spend meaningful time and share a meal with their loved ones.

𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒 | The Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) Region VI, led by Supervising Geologist Adeline Grace M. Torreda and Data Encoder-Controller (GIS) Mardy F. Cabrera, participated in the second Guimaras leg of the DENR Express Permitting on Wheels (POW), held at the Municipal Hall of Nueva Valencia on September 22, 2026.

The event was spearheaded by DENR VI OIC Regional Executive Director Atty. Ramar Niel V. Pascua, alongside EMB VI OIC Regional Director Engr. Anne Marie Delariarte and PENRO Guimaras Julieta T. Gabayeron. Also present were Nueva Valencia Mayor Hon. Emmanuel C. Galila, barangay officials, other P/MENRO officers, representatives from local government units, and various stakeholders.

Similar to the previous setup, an Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) discussion was conducted and One-Stop-Shop Hubs were placed. For MGB VI, three (3) individuals availed of its services, all of whom inquired about geological scoping.

| 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐔𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 “𝐗-𝐑𝐚𝐲” 🔍🖥️

Hydrogeologists can "see" water hidden deep underground without digging a single hole.

Enter the 𝗘𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗦𝘂𝗿𝘃𝗲𝘆—a brilliant geophysical technique used in groundwater exploration. This exact geophysical technique is put to work here in the Philippines by the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB).

Here is how it works:
⚡️𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗸: Surveyors drive small metal stakes (electrodes) into the ground and safely send a controlled electrical current into the earth.

📉𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲: Different underground materials like solid rock, clay, sand, and water-saturated gravel resist electrical flow differently. Water-bearing layers (aquifers) usually show distinct resistivity signatures.

🎯𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁: By measuring how the ground resists electricity at various depths, scientists can create a 1D or 2D or 3D subsurface "map" to pinpoint the exact best spot to drill for water.

Through the National Groundwater Resource and Vulnerability Assessment Program (NGRVAP), MGB geologists conduct this type of geophysical survey across provinces and watersheds nationwide to verify the presence of groundwater and determine its potential as a groundwater source—guiding the Local Government Units (LGUs) and water districts. These surveys also help evaluate risks like saltwater intrusion and aquifer contamination, keeping communities resilient against dry spells and water scarcity.

𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒 | In observance of the International Coastal Cleanup ( ), the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) Region VI participated in the cleanup drive in the coastal areas of Brgy. Trapiche, Oton, Iloilo on September 19, 2026, alongside various government agencies, private institutions, local communities, and other stakeholders.

ICC is an annual global volunteer effort to preserve the health of the ocean, conducted every third Saturday of September. It encourages individuals and organizations around the world to clean trash off beaches, rivers, lakes, and waterways, and then identify, segregate, and document each piece of debris on an Ocean Trash Data sheet.

This year’s theme centered on “Clean Seas for Resilient Communities,” highlighting the importance of maintaining clean coastlines and waterways in helping communities prepare for and withstand the impacts of climate change and natural disasters, thereby building resilience for future generations.

Beyond the annual cleanup, the activity also underscores the shared responsibility to practice proper and efficient waste management at homes, in schools, and in workplaces, all while also engaging with upcycling and circulatory initiatives in support of extended producer responsibility.

At MGB Region VI, we continue to support and stand with our mandate for environmental protection and responsible resource management by actively participating in such initiatives for cleaner communities, sustainable practices, and greater environmental awareness.

Under 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝟏𝟒𝟒 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗗𝗔𝗢 𝟐𝟎𝟏𝟎-𝟐𝟏, the Mines and Geosciences Bureau Regional Director shall require a Contractor, Permittee, Lessee, or Permit Holder to submit a 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 covering its area of operations within fifteen (15) working days before the start of every calendar year.

The program shall include, but shall not be limited to, the following:

1. Leadership and Administration;
2. Organizational Rules;
3. Management and Employee Training;
4. Good Housekeeping;
5. Health Control and Services;
6. Provision for Personal Protective Equipment;
7. Monitoring and Reporting;
8. Environmental Risk Management, including an Emergency Response Program; and
9. Occupational Health and Safety Management

SAN JOSE, ANTIQUE — The Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) Region VI, led by Regional Director Cecilia L. Ochavo-Saycon, joined the “ ” Program on September 14, 2026, at the EBJ Gymnasium, Binirayan Sports Complex, alongside the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), key government agencies, and the Provincial Government of Antique and local government units (LGUs).

The event was represented by the DENR Secretary Atty. Juan Miguel T. Cuna, on behalf of His Excellency President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. The activity was held as part of the current administration’s efforts to bring government programs and services closer and more accessible to the public in the whole nation.
