Veterinary Quarantine Services - Western Visayas

𝗕𝗔𝗜, 𝗡𝗢𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗗𝗢 𝗦𝗔 𝗣𝗚𝗥𝗣 𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗢𝗚𝗡𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗔𝗪𝗔𝗥𝗗𝗦 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗚𝗥𝗔𝗠

Kinilala ang Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI) bilang isa sa mga nominado sa Philippine Good Regulatory Principles Recognition and Awards Program (PGRP RAP) ngayong taon.

Ang pagkilalang ito ay patunay ng patuloy na pagsisikap ng BAI na mapabuti ang paghahatid ng serbisyo publiko, mapalakas ang maayos at epektibong regulasyon at mapanatili ang tiwala ng mamamayan sa pamahalaan.

Ayon kay Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) Director General Ernesto Perez, layunin ng mga repormang ito na makapaghatid ng tunay at positibong pagbabago sa buhay ng mga Pilipino sa iba’t ibang panig ng bansa.

Patuloy na magsisilbi ang BAI para sa isang mas ligtas, mas matatag at mas maunlad na sektor ng paghahayupan para sa bawat Pilipino. # # #

|| On May 29, 2026, VQS 6, represented by Dr. Christine Lynn Marcelino-Melgarejo, served as a resource person during the Orientation on the Programs and Services of the Department of Agriculture, its Attached Agencies and Bureaus, and partner institutions under the Deployment and Advancement of Responsive Extension on Agriculture for Community Holistic Development (DA-REACH) Program.

During the activity, Dr. Melgarejo provided participants with an overview of the BAI-National Veterinary Quarantine Services Division (NVQSD), highlighting its legal mandates, functions, and regulatory services. The orientation was attended by DA personnel who will be deployed and assigned to various LGUs across Western Visayas as part of the DA-REACH Program.

The activity aimed to equip participants with the knowledge and understanding needed to effectively deliver agricultural extension services and provide accurate information on government programs and services to the communities they will serve.

|| VQS 6–Iloilo, represented by Mr. Roger Moises Alcazar, RAgR., Dumangas Station Head, together with Livestock Inspector I Mr. Proceso Gimoto, conducted a coordination meeting with Dumangas Port Manager Erdie S. Cocoy, MPA, REB.

The meeting focused on strengthening coordination and collaboration in support of efficient veterinary quarantine operations and compliance with port regulations.

|| On May 8, 2026, VQS 6–Guimaras, led by Dr. Christy Coching-Reyes, Provincial Coordinator, together with Livestock Inspector I Mr. Reynante Lozada, conducted a courtesy visit to Philippine Coast Guard Guimaras Station Head LTJG Benedict Angelo G. Gloriani at Brgy. San Miguel, Jordan, Guimaras.

The activity aimed to strengthen stakeholder collaboration and coordination in support of enhanced veterinary quarantine operations in the province.
