Bridging the digital gap where it counts, the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) conducted site acceptance for the Free Wi-Fi for All Program.

This milestone advances the goal of delivering dependable internet, particularly in locations where service has been historically limited. With these sites live, residents gain better access to vital data, fostering growth in remote education, research, and digital government interaction.

The Free Wi-Fi service is now active in these barangays:

‎Access to information is now closer than ever for the people of Belison, Antique, as the DICT Region 6, through the DICT Antique Provincial Office, continues to expand the Free Wi-Fi for All Program in several barangays across the municipality.

‎Through the successful site acceptance and launch of free public Wi-Fi, community members can now benefit from improved internet access that supports learning, communication, research, and access to government online services..

‎The Free Wi-Fi sites are now available in the following locations in Belison:

‎With these newly activated connectivity sites, students can study online more easily, teachers can access digital resources, and residents can stay informed and connected with the world. The DICT remains committed to strengthening digital inclusion and ensuring that no community is left behind in the country’s digital transformation.

𝐃𝐈𝐂𝐓 𝐁𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐒 𝐅𝐑𝐄𝐄 𝐖𝐈-𝐅𝐈 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐍𝐄𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐕𝐈𝐓𝐘 𝐓𝐎 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐌𝐔𝐍𝐈𝐓𝐈𝐄𝐒 𝐈𝐍 𝐓𝐈𝐁𝐈𝐀𝐎, 𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐈𝐐𝐔𝐄

The DICT Region VI, through the DICT Antique Provincial Office, successfully completed the distribution of free internet connectivity to schools, SUCs, and communities in the municipality of Tibiao, Antique — a significant step toward expanding digital access in the province, particularly in underserved areas, in support of emergency and disaster response, and to benefit state-run higher education institutions.

Led by the Free Public Internet Access Program, the connectivity project was implemented in fourteen locations in this municipality, aiming to allow residents—especially students, teachers, and the community to keep up with the continuous advancement of technology. This initiative is part of the government program that seeks to establish an accessible and safe internet in public spaces across the country.

These areas are among the Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas (GIDA) — communities that are gradually being provided access to modern information and online services through DICT’s Free Wi-Fi for All Program. With connectivity, more opportunities are opening up for students, teachers, and the entire community — especially in the fields of education, economy, disaster preparedness, and engagement with the wider world.

With the help of free internet connectivity, opportunities become more accessible for students and teachers to gain knowledge, utilize modern technology, and connect with the wider world.

The Department of Information and Communications Technology Region VI, through the Antique Provincial Office, continues its commitment to digital inclusion by donating 3 tablets to the Municipality of Anini-y last April 8, 2026, and 7 tablets to the Municipality of Tobias Fornier last April 13, 2026.

These devices were turned over to their respective Rural Health Units, which aim to enhance healthcare services, improve data management, and support frontliners in delivering efficient and accessible care to the community.

𝐃𝐈𝐂𝐓 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐕𝐈 𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝟒𝟐𝟏 𝐁𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐒𝐈𝐌 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐃𝐒𝐖𝐃 - 𝐅𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐝 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐕𝐈

On April 7, 2026, DICT Region VI Regional Director Reynaldo T. Sy, personally turned over 421 Bayanihan SIM Cards to DSWD - Field Office VI Regional Director Joselito G. Estember for the DSWD Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries as part of the “Juan SIM ng Bayan Program – Bayanihan SIM Project” of the DICT Free Public Internet Access Program.

Each SIM Cards has a free monthly data of 25GB for 12 months, which will help the 4Ps beneficiaries stay online and connected without the burden of paying for prepaid internet connection.

Patuloy na pinalalakas ang access sa internet sa iba’t ibang komunidad sa lalawigan ng Iloilo sa pamamagitan ng Free Wi-Fi for All Program ng DICT. Sa ilalim ng programang ito, naihatid ang libreng internet connectivity sa mga sumusunod na paaralan, barangay, at pampublikong ospital:

Ang inisyatibong ito ay naglalayong magbigay ng mas malawak na digital access sa mga komunidad, lalo na sa mga lugar na limitado ang koneksyon sa internet. Sa tulong ng libreng Wi-Fi, mas napapadali ang pagkuha ng impormasyon, pag-aaral gamit ang online resources, at pag-access sa iba’t ibang digital services.

Sa patuloy na pagpapalawak ng internet connectivity sa mga paaralan, barangay, at mga pasilidad ng serbisyong panlipunan, mas napapalapit ang mga komunidad sa mga oportunidad na hatid ng makabagong teknolohiya. Layunin ng programang ito na tiyaking mas marami pang Pilipino ang magkakaroon ng pagkakataong makakonekta sa digital na mundo.
