The Regional Agricultural and Fisheries Council (RAFC) VI successfully convened its 2nd Sectoral Committee Meeting on July 4, 2025, at Zuri Hotel, Benigno Aquino Avenue, Iloilo City. The meeting served as a platform to share updates on the status of organic agriculture across Western Visayas and reaffirm the Councilโ€™s commitment to inclusive and sustainable development in the region.

Mr. Godynel Isedenia, Chairperson of the Organic Agriculture Sectoral Committee, shared insightful perspectives on Republic Act No. 11511, emphasizing its vital role in promoting grassroots participation and enhancing access to organic certification systems. The committee expressed unwavering support for the regional implementation of the program, recognizing its potential to uplift local farmers, enhance food security, and contribute to national sustainability goals.

A key highlight was the presentation from Ms. Zarlina B. Cuello, Focal Person for the Department of Agriculture-Western Visayas (DA-WV) Organic Agriculture (OA) Program and Regional Technical Director for Research and Extension. She provided a comprehensive update on ongoing initiatives under the OA Program.

In a key segment of the meeting, RAFC Chairperson Engr. Buen S.
