𝗢𝗥𝗗𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗘 𝗡𝗢. 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲-𝟰𝟱𝟭 𝗜𝗦 𝗙𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗬 𝗔𝗣𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗗

During its 11th Regular Session held on March 23, 2026, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, Approved Ordinance No. 2026-451, titled “𝐀𝐧 𝐎𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐀𝐝𝐨𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐎𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐜 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐅𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐞 (𝐏𝐋𝐓𝐂) 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐎𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐜 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐪𝐮𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐅𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐥 𝐕𝐈 (𝐑𝐀𝐅𝐂 𝐕𝐈) 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐍𝐨. 𝟎𝟑𝟑, 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓.”

The measure was passed without any objection from the members, underscoring strong legislative support for sustainable agriculture in the province.

To be formally known as the “Provincial Organic Agriculture Farming Ordinance of Antique,” the newly approved measure seeks to institutionalize organic farming practices across the province. It aims to empower local farmers, promote sustainable and climate-resilient livelihoods, protect the environment, and enhance the competitiveness of organically produced agricultural goods.

As Chairperson of the Committee on Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, we strongly express our full support for this measure. We believe that advancing organic agriculture is not only a strategic response to environmental challenges but also a vital step toward ensuring food security, improving farmers’ income, and promoting the long-term sustainability of the agricultural sector.

With its passage on final reading, we look forward to the immediate implementation of programs and initiative that will bring the vision of fully supported organic agriculture sector in Antique into reality. We remain committed to championing policies and programs that uplift our farmers and strengthen the foundation of agriculture in Antique. Through this ordinance, we reaffirm our collective goal of building a resilient, productive, and sustainable agricultural future for the province.
