Ensuring Community Safety: A Collaborative Effort

As dedicated members of the Barangay Council, our foremost priority is to ensure the peace and order within our community. This commitment extends beyond mere oversight; it involves proactive measures and continuous monitoring to safeguard the well-being of all our residents. We firmly believe that a secure barangay is the foundation for a thriving one, fostering a sense of safety and trust among our constituents.

It is with profound sense of responsibility that I recently had the privilege of presenting our Barangay Surveillance System to personnel from the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO). Their visit was crucial, as it allowed for a comprehensive assessment of our system's functionality and effectiveness. This collaboration is a testament to our ongoing efforts to strengthen our partnership with law enforcement, ensuring that our local initiatives are aligned with broader city-wide security strategies.

Beyond our current setup, we were also proud to inform the ICPO that significant advancements are already underway. We outlined our plans for the Dela Rama Area, where new batches of high-definition surveillance cameras are scheduled for installation, funded by the 2025 Supplemental Budget. This expansion is a direct response to the community's needs and our proactive stance on crime prevention. Furthermore, demonstrating our sustained commitment, an additional PHP 100,000 has been specifically appropriated from our 20% Development Fund to acquire even more state-of-the-art CCTV Surveillance Cameras. This substantial investment underscores our resolve to continuously upgrade our security infrastructure, ensuring comprehensive coverage and rapid response capabilities.

These planned improvements signify our proactive approach to public safety, transforming our barangay into an even more secure and resilient community. We are confident that these strategic enhancements, combined with our strong partnership with the ICPO, will further deter criminal activities and provide our residents with the peace of mind they deserve. Our Barangay Council remains dedicated to continuous innovation and collaboration to safeguard the welfare of all.

Barangay Zamora-Melliza Holds Solemn Religious Procession for San Vicente Ferrer

Barangay Zamora-Melliza once again beautifully upheld its profound and cherished annual tradition through a solemn and inspiring Religious Procession in heartfelt honor of our revered patron saint, San Vicente Ferrer.

The streets of our barangay transformed into a river of devotion as a multitude of faithful devotees joined this sacred journey. Leading the procession with grace and reverence were our newly crowned Fiesta Queen 2026, Queen Lindsay Gail Alcoran I, and her Royal Court, radiating the spiritual essence of our celebration.

They were joined by our dedicated Barangay Officials and energetic SK Officials, demonstrating leadership and community spirit. Adding youthful innocence and charm were the Little Princesses of our Barangay, along with the reverent Acolytes and disciplined Boy Scouts, all contributing to the solemnity and order of the event.

Most importantly, the procession saw the participation of countless parents and residents from all walks of life, walking together as one community, united in faith, prayer, and gratitude to San Vicente Ferrer for his continuous intercession and blessings upon Barangay Zamora-Melliza. Each step taken was a testament to our enduring devotion and the strong spiritual foundation that binds us all.

This powerful display of faith serves as a poignant reminder of our rich spiritual heritage and the unwavering belief that continues to guide our community. 🙏✨

A CELEBRATION OF FAITH AND GRATITUDE

Solemn Thanksgiving Mass Honors Patron Saint San Vicente Ferrer

In joyful celebration of our much-awaited Annual Patronal Fiesta dedicated to our beloved patron, San Vicente Ferrer, the entire community of Barangay Zamora-Melliza gathered together in one spirit, faith and unity to offer praise and thanksgiving to the Almighty.

As the spiritual heart and foundation of our festivities, we held a solemn and meaningful Thanksgiving Mass that brought together barangay officials, residents, families and friends to give thanks for all the blessings, protection and guidance bestowed upon our community throughout the year.

The holy Eucharistic celebration was officiated with deep reverence and warmth by Rev. Fr. Nelson G. Zerda, OSA from the San Jose Parish Church. Fr. Nelson led the community in prayer, shared inspiring words of faith, and invoked the powerful intercession of San Vicente Ferrer to continue watching over our homes, keeping us safe, united and always blessed.

This sacred occasion reminded us that beyond the merrymaking and celebrations, our devotion and love for God are what truly make our fiesta meaningful and special. 🙏✨

A beautiful and solemn celebration in honor of Nuestra Señora de las Flores, open to all ages.

Let us come together in prayer, devotion, and unity as we offer flowers and gratitude to our Blessed Mother. In this sacred tradition, we are reminded of faith, humility, and the beauty of serving with a sincere heart.

BAYLE SA KALYE 2026: A SPECTACULAR GRAND SALVO TO OPEN OUR FIESTA!

Barangay Zamora-Melliza proudly presents the historic and much-awaited first ever BAYLE SA KALYE 2026—a vibrant celebration that officially kicked off this year’s fiesta festivities in grand fashion!

True to the spirit of unity and bayanihan, this momentous event was wholeheartedly joined by representatives from all different sectors of our barangay.

Our streets and Barangay gym were transformed into a massive, colorful stage filled with lively music, graceful movements, and festive cheer that filled every corner of our community. It was not just a dance presentation, but a beautiful display of our culture, talent and strong bond as one barangay.

Truly, Bayle sa Kalye 2026 served as the magnificent grand salvo that set the joyful, vibrant and festive tone for the entire 2026 Patronal Fiesta celebration! 💃🕺🎉

GRAND FINALE: SUMMER FIESTA BASKETBALL & VOLLEYBALL LEAGUE 2026 ENDS WITH A BLAST!

The exciting season of sports and camaraderie in Barangay Zamora-Melliza officially came to a spectacular close, as our SUMMER FIESTA BASKETBALL & VOLLEYBALL LEAGUE 2026 wrapped up in grand style during the lively and memorable SK Players Night and Awarding Ceremony!

For weeks, our community courts came alive with action, filled with intense yet friendly matches, roaring cheers, and displays of skill, grit, and true sportsmanship from all participating teams. Every dribble, pass, spike, and shot was a testament to the dedication and passion of our athletes, who gave their very best on the court while representing their groups with pride.

All the hard work, sweat, and determination finally culminated in a joyous night of celebration! The occasion was filled with fun activities, great music, and warm fellowship that brought players, coaches, officials, and families together as one community. The highlight of the night was the much-awaited Awarding Ceremony, where well-deserved trophies, medals, and prizes were given to the champion teams, runner-ups, and outstanding players who excelled throughout the entire league.

More than just a competition, this activity successfully promoted unity, healthy lifestyle, and positive values among our youth and residents, making it a truly meaningful highlight of our annual fiesta celebration.
