Since October of 2015, Dr. Lex Tupas is not anymore the Chairman of the Iloilo City CCTV Camera Council. He took a leave just like the past elections so aa not to be said that he is using the position to influence the upcoming elections and eventually he resigned as City Councilor. The new Chairman is Col. Bautista, the City Administrator. Recently, the CCTV Camera Council during a session duly assembled has unanimously voted to make Lex Tupas as the Chairman Emeritus of the council. He will serve as adviser.

Iloilo CCTV Camera Council Regular Monthly Meeting. It probably is the last time Councilor Lex Tupas will be the presiding officer during meetings and the Chairman of the council. Just like the past elections, he took a leave so that nobody can say he is taking advantage of his position to campaign especially that small and big businesses that are high risk establishments have thousands of employees under them. Thus, the co chairman will take over just like last elections. Councilor Lex has decided not to run this 2016 but his wife Dra. Candice "Misis Lex" Tupas was convinced to run for Iloilo City Councilor by Congressman Jerry Trenas and has filed her Certificate of Candidacy last Monday. In the three years Chairman Lex Tupas has led the council, he has institutionalized the procedures, processes, the regulations, and has even got private sponsors for CCTV Cameras for all public schools and got a motorcycle donation for the use of the CCTV Taskforce. He has also made sure that the council will have its own office, annual budget, vehicle and staff. In his tenure, there has been no reported cases of crime against property and person for all high risk establishments that obtained the certificate of compliance. Thus, there was strict implementation of the Iloilo City CCTV Ordinance.

Thankful of the support of Mayor Jed Patrick E. Mabilog as we work to make Iloilo City a safer, more peaceful, more business friendly and more tourist friendly City. Aside from making sure that durable and reliable cctv camera systems are installed in the identified high risk establishments and the major thoroughfares, the Mayor has ordered and with the support of the President of the League of Barangays in our city and the Barangays captains are now installing cctv camera systems in their respective Barangays/villages. This will definitely help in preventing and reducing crime against property and person and if something happens, there will be a faster resolution of cases. As Chairman of the Iloilo City CCTV Camera Council, this is a very welcome and happy development 😎- Dr. Lex Tupas
