Lapuz, Iloilo City’s smallest district (3.25 km², 31,603 residents in 2024), named from Hiligaynon “lapus” (“to pass through”) for its strategic location, was established in 2008 and serves as a vital industrial and port hub connecting the city to Guimaras.
