Kalahi-CIDSS Region VI

Living near the river puts the community in danger whenever a storm came, but with the slope protection project in Brgy. Mabusao, Ibajay, Aklan, people are now protected from flooding.

In Laguinbanwa, Kalahi-CIDSS funded solar streetlights project illuminates the barangay without additional cost to the community.

Kalahi-CIDSS has funded an income generating project (IGP) specifically the vermiculture in Brgy. Buhay, Alimodian, Iloilo.

This project helped sustain the needs of farmers to produce organic fertilizers.

The slope protection project in Brgy. Tugaslon, Alimodian, Iloilo addresses the landslide concern of the community.

The Daycare Center in Brgy. Morobuan, Jordan, Guimaras plays an important role in children’s education. They no longer need to go to other barangays to get the right education.

The project is the fruit of community’s participation.

The community of Brgy. Mararison, Culasi, Antique is now at ease with Jackstone-Type Coastal Protection that protects them from huge waves.

The people can now easily transport their goods to the market because of the newly-built road in Brgy. Bitadton Norte, Culasi, Antique.

IMPROVED LOCAL GOVERNANCE

"Isa sa mga best practices nga gina-obra namon sa Brgy. Agdaliran amo ang pagpahibalo sa mga tawo kon may isa ka butang nga paga desisyunan sang barangay. Dapat may transparency nga ginatawag kay naagyan ko ang indi hamak nga kabudlay sang ako nag barangay secretary for 21 years."

SUSTAINED COMMUNITY VOLUNTEER GROUP

"Gintukod namon ang Municipality of Ibajay Skilled Women Associaton (MISWA) matapos sang amon skills training sa TESDA nga gingastuhan it Kalahi-CIDSS.

Bale nagtukod kami sa whole Ibajay para mabuo namon ro nga asosasyon sa iba't iba nga klase sang skills, 23 members na kami sa ro umpisa pero sa makaron hay may gadugang na nga miyembro.

Mapakita man namon nga antigu man kami it mag-obra sa ubrahon ro diya. May amon man nga kaibahan naging welder man sa project it Kalahi-CIDSS."

GENDER AND DEVELOPMENT

"Masaya po maging isang volunteer dahil nakakatulong ako sa barangay. Bisan owa ako katapos sang pag-eskwela, nakabulig ako.

Nang dahil sa Kalahi-CIDSS, naka antigu ako magtrabaho it eaki. Nang dahil sa Kalahi-CIDSS, ea hu natutunan ro maging isang matapang na babae."

ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION

"Kang nag-abot ang Kalahi-CIDSS, didto nag-umpisa nga magtub sa amon baratyagon kag mga paminsaron nga kinahanglan gali ang kada isara mag ugyon, magbululigay kag may pag ulikid sa anang isig kapareho.

Kinahanglan mapadayon ang pag proteksyon kang baybayon kag palibot para nga mapasanyog ang programa kang turismo sa amon isla."
