LOOK: CEREMONIAL TURNOVER OF FISH CAGE ENTERPRISE AT BARANGAY PAMINTAYAN, BUUG, ZAMBOANGA SIBUGAY
The DSWD Sustainable Livelihood Program - Sibugay Cluster attended the turn-over ceremony of Mabol SLPA's Fish Cage project at Brgy. Pamintayan, Buug, ZSP today, August 18, 2026. The SLP Association composed of 15 all-male fisherfolk members from the barangay, received Php 450,000.00 grant as their start-up capital for their enterpris engaging in the production of grouper fish (lapu-lapu), a high-value marine species with strong market demand. Given the community's strong connection to fishing and marine resources, the establishment of the fish cage enterprise provides an appropriate livelihood opportunity for the association members, complementing their existing knowledge, skills, and experience while developing an additional and potentially sustainable source of income for their families.
The activity was graced by the presence of DSWD Field Office IX Regional Director Riduan P. Hadjimuddin, CESO III, SLP OIC Regional Program Coordinator Melanie J. Ladjamalik, Provincial Coordinator Dearshon S. Madelo as well as the program's valuable partners from the Office of the Municipal Mayor of the Local Government Unit of Buug, Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office, and the Barangay LGU.
