Promoting Hope, Awareness, and Emotional Well-Being

On October 10, 2026, the Ipil District Jailโ€“Female Dormitory (IDJ-FD), under the guidance of ๐—๐—–๐—ฆ๐—จ๐—ฃ๐—ง ๐—”๐— ๐—”๐——๐—ข ๐—” ๐—–๐—ข๐—ก๐—–๐—˜๐—ฃ๐—–๐—œ๐—ข๐—ก ๐—๐—ฅ., ๐—–๐—˜๐—ฆ๐—˜, Regional Director, and the direct supervision of SJO4 Cindy N Vargas, Acting Jail Warden, conducted the โ€œLight Up Blue for Mental Healthโ€ activity in observance of World Mental Health Day 2026.

Through blue ribbons, wristbands, and a blue light display, personnel and persons deprived of liberty (PDL) expressed their support for mental health awareness and emotional well-being.

Beyond release, the journey continuesโ€ฆ

The Ipil District Jail-Female Dormitory (IDJ-FD), under the supervision of ๐—๐—–๐—ฆ๐—จ๐—ฃ๐—ง ๐—”๐— ๐—”๐——๐—ข ๐—” ๐—–๐—ข๐—ก๐—–๐—˜๐—ฃ๐—–๐—œ๐—ข๐—ก ๐—๐—ฅ., ๐—–๐—˜๐—ฆ๐—˜, Regional Director of the Jail Bureau, and the leadership of SJO4 Cindy N Vargas, Acting Jail Warden, highlights the BJMP Aftercare Program, upholding the rights, dignity, and welfare of Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) as they transition beyond custody, in collaboration with stakeholders.

As part of this continuing support, a recently released PDL received financial assistance from stakeholders to help support their transition and reintegration into the community.

On October 2026, the Ipil District Jail-Female Dormitory (IDJ-FD), under the leadership of ๐—๐—–๐—ฆ๐—จ๐—ฃ๐—ง ๐—”๐— ๐—”๐——๐—ข ๐—” ๐—–๐—ข๐—ก๐—–๐—˜๐—ฃ๐—–๐—œ๐—ข๐—ก ๐—๐—ฅ., ๐—–๐—˜๐—ฆ๐—˜, Regional Director of the Jail Bureau, and under the guidance of SJO4 Cindy N Vargas, Acting Jail Warden, coordinated with the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay, in preparation for the NACOCOW 2026 celebration.

The coordination sought BFAR assistance through a training facilitator and technical guidance for a proposed livelihood training aimed at providing PDL with practical skills and potential livelihood opportunities during their stay and after release.

On October 2026, the Ipil District Jail-Female Dormitory (IDJ-FD), in accordance with the directives of ๐—๐—–๐—ฆ๐—จ๐—ฃ๐—ง ๐—”๐— ๐—”๐——๐—ข ๐—” ๐—–๐—ข๐—ก๐—–๐—˜๐—ฃ๐—–๐—œ๐—ข๐—ก ๐—๐—ฅ., ๐—–๐—˜๐—ฆ๐—˜, Regional Director of the Jail Bureau, and under the leadership of SJO4 Cindy N Vargas, Acting Jail Warden, coordinated with the Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA), headed by Constantino T. Camacho.

The coordination aimed to explore possible assistance and services for the facilityโ€™s senior citizen Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) in support of Elderly Filipino Week 2026, with the theme, โ€œNakatatandang Pilipino: May Halaga at Karapatan, May Boses at Ambag sa Bayan.โ€

The initiative highlights IDJ-FDโ€™s commitment to promoting the rights, dignity, and well-being of senior citizen PDL.

On October 2026, the Ipil District Jailโ€“Female Dormitory (IDJ-FD), under the guidance of ๐—๐—–๐—ฆ๐—จ๐—ฃ๐—ง ๐—”๐— ๐—”๐——๐—ข ๐—” ๐—–๐—ข๐—ก๐—–๐—˜๐—ฃ๐—–๐—œ๐—ข๐—ก ๐—๐—ฅ, ๐—–๐—˜๐—ฆ๐—˜, Regional Director of the Jail Bureau, and under the direct supervision of SJO4 Cindy N Vargas, Acting Jail Warden, conducted a Pinoy Henyo activity, as part of its Mental Health Awareness Program.

The activity was facilitated by JO3 Beverlee C Buletic, UWD JNOR, with JO2 Jonarisa D Aballe, RN, Duty Nurse, and AMMC Criminology interns, with the participation of thirty (30) female Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) and five (5) BJMP personnel.

The activity provided an avenue to ease daily stressors, encourage positive interaction, and promote psychosocial well-being within the facility.

On October 6, 2026, the Ipil District Jailโ€“Female Dormitory (IDJ-FD), under the supervision of ๐—๐—–๐—ฆ๐—จ๐—ฃ๐—ง ๐—”๐— ๐—”๐——๐—ข ๐—” ๐—–๐—ข๐—ก๐—–๐—˜๐—ฃ๐—–๐—œ๐—ข๐—ก ๐—๐—ฅ., ๐—–๐—˜๐—ฆ๐—˜, Regional Director of the Jail Bureau, and under the leadership of SJO4 Cindy N Vargas, Acting Jail Warden participated in the Foodie Bayanihan in line of the 15th CRS Month Celebration.

In collaboration with Ipil District Jail-Female Dormitory (IDJ-MD), MENRO-Ipil, and community stakeholders, the team assisted in distributing 80 assorted packs to 80 beneficiaries/households at Purok Young Dreamers, Taway, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay.

The activity highlighted volunteerism, civic service, and community partnership through coordinated efforts in support of the local community.

In collaboration with Ipil District Jail-Male Dormitory (IDJ-MD), MENRO-Ipil, and stakeholders, BJMP and partner personnel served arroz caldo, bread, and juice to 80 recipients, including children and adults.

The activity highlighted volunteerism, civic service, and community partnership through coordinated efforts in support of the local community.
