Iriga City Tourism Office

Iriga City pays tribute to its most beloved daughter, National Artist Nora Aunor, with a two-day celebration and the project presentation of the Ate Guy Theatre and Auditorium (AGTA).

The first Nora Aunor Day begins today, May 20, and runs until tomorrow, May 21. The City Government of Iriga through its tourism office, is organizing the event. Some of the late national artist's fans, friends and family are expected to attend. Local talents will take part in several contests beginning tonight at the Iriga City Park. These include acting, singing, songwriting and poetry inspired by the films, songs and legacy of the late Superstar.

Earlier today, 𝐍𝐎𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐈𝐀𝐍𝐒 who came all the way from Samar, Leyte and Metro Manila were treated to a meaningful and nostalgic journey in Iriga City to retrace the humble beginnings and memorable places of the one and only 𝐌𝐬. 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐚 𝐀𝐮𝐧𝐨𝐫, 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐂𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐦𝐚'𝐬 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐚 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲'𝐬 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐞. .

The nostalgic tour is part of a warm gesture of welcome from the City Government of Iriga, through the Iriga Culture Heritage Arts and Tourism Office and the Iriga City Noranians.

First stop is a Courtesy call to the Office of the City Mayor, where the group was warmly received by 𝐌𝐚𝐲𝐨𝐫 𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐨 𝐑𝐞𝐱 𝐂. 𝐎𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐚.

The group then proceeded to the following spots:

1.Iriga Culture Heritage Arts and Tourism Office
2. Iriga City Library
3. Lunch at MCM Restaurant, Bakeshoppe and Boutique
4. Parroquia y Santuario Archidiocesano de San Antonio de Padua (St.Anthony of Padua Parish Church)
5. PNR Iriga
6. Masosu Spring Resort

The group also had a taste of Pan de Nora at one of the Iriga City's pioneers in Baking, the Nadal's Bakeshop. A special bread, Pan de Nora was crafted and baked in honor of the Superstar famously known as Ate Guy. Arch. Rodolfo Nadal and Ms.Teresita Nadal,Owners of Nadal Bakeshop and Noranians themselves, distributed a thousand pieces of Pan De Nora to Irigueños as a foretaste of the re-launching of the bread as a local delicacy and Tourism asset.

Tonight,after the Nora Aunor contests at the City Plaza, the group will return to Masosu Spring Resort,one of the best local attractions in the city, for a fun-filled welcome party and fellowship Night.

The Noranians from different cities and provinces are here to join the very first celebration of the NORA AUNOR Day,a two-part tribute to the one and only Superstar of Philippine Cinema and Iriga City's pride, Ms. Nora AUNOR.

The first-ever Nora Aunor Day motorcade kicks off on May 21 at 3:00 PM at the Iriga City Ceremonial Grandstand, winding its way through the city proper in a grand tribute to the Superstar. See the route on the map and come be part of this historic celebration in honor of the Superstar who made Iriga City proud to the world.

The motorcade will conclude at the St. Anthony of Padua Parish and Shrine, where a Mass will be celebrated in her memory.

Join the motorcade and ride with us through the streets of Iriga, or line up along the route, wave, and let your love for Ate Guy be heard and felt throughout the city. 𝐁𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐨, hosted the eventful gathering of Camarines Sur Tourism Officers and historic Oath-taking ceremony of fourteen (14) ATOCS officers presided over by the 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐎𝐓-𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐕 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞, 𝐌𝐬.
