The Sangguniang Panlungsod of Iriga City conducted a Committee Hearing on September 21, 2026, at 1:00 P.M. at the City Session Hall, Iriga City, to deliberate on the proposed ordinance seeking to institutionalize the Iriga Protection Center for Women, Children, and Victim-Survivors of Gender-Based Violence and Abuse.

The proposed measure aims to establish a multidisciplinary, one-stop protection and response system that provides comprehensive support and services to victim-survivors, including the necessary funding for its implementation.

The hearing was presided over by 𝐇𝐨𝐧. 𝐊𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐃𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐪𝐮𝐞 𝐂. 𝐋𝐚𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐬, Chairperson of the Committee on Women and Gender Development, as the lead committee, together with committee members 𝐇𝐨𝐧. The Committee Hearing forms part of the Sangguniang Panlungsod’s continuing efforts to review proposed legislative measures that strengthen the protection of women and children, promote gender-responsive governance, and ensure accessible and coordinated support services for victim-survivors of violence and abuse.

The 18th Sangguniang Panlungsod of Iriga City convened its 65th Regular Session on October 06, 2026, presided over by Vice Mayor and Presiding Officer 𝙃𝙤𝙣. 𝙀𝙙𝙨𝙚𝙡 𝙎. Joining the Vice Mayor and City Councilors during the session were their respective City Elderly Official Counterparts, who accompanied them throughout the proceedings as part of the meaningful participation and engagement of Iriga City’s senior citizens in local governance.

The session continued the legislative work of the Sangguniang Panlungsod through the deliberation and consideration of resolutions, ordinances, and other matters concerning effective governance and the continued development of Iriga City.

The 18th Sangguniang Panlungsod remains committed to advancing responsive legislation and strengthening participatory governance for the benefit of every Irigueño.
