2. Kalat at Amoy, Nagdudulot ito ng dumi at masangsang na amoy sa mga pampublikong lugar.
3. Nagpapalala ito ng trapiko, lalo na during rush hours.

The awarding ceremony was held on November 20 at the Iloilo Convention Center, Megaworld Boulevard, Iloilo City.
This national recognition highlights the cityโs consistent dedication to protecting and uplifting government workers through responsible governance and strengthened partnerships with the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS).
The award was received by Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman, representing the cityโs ongoing pursuit of programs that ensure the welfare, security, and empowerment of government employees.

๐ข๐ก ๐๐ง๐ฆ 7๐ง๐ ๐ฅ๐๐๐ข๐ฅ๐๐๐ ๐ฉ๐๐ฆ๐๐ง, ๐๐ฆ๐ฃ ๐๐ฆ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ฅ๐ก๐ฆ ๐๐ฅ๐ข๐ ๐ง๐๐ ๐๐ช๐๐ฅ๐-๐ช๐๐ก๐ก๐๐ก๐ ๐๐ฆ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐.๐ฅ.๐.๐.๐.๐ฆ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ง๐ฌ | The Girl Scouts of the Philippines (GSP) โ DepEd Isabela City Schools Division visited the Solid Waste Management Facility in Sitio Lantung, Barangay Baluno on November 6, 2025, to raise environmental awareness as part of their Project ECO-COLLECT: Transforming Plastic Waste into Community Value, supported by the City Government of Isabela through the Gender and Development Program.
With almost 100 participants, the activity provided an on-site learning experience at the Isabela B.R.I.C.K.S Facility, where the scouts were able to see and understand firsthand the process of producing various products such as bricks, footpaths, vases, and hollow blocks, as one of the key waste diversion initiatives of the LGU Isabela City.
This marks the 7th recorded on-site visit to the award-winning facility, which was facilitated by the CGSOโCENRO Project Development Team led by CAA Anna Sahibil, together with Bricks Master Abdusamad Hayre. The team fostered a sense of community belongingness and instilled values of environmental stewardship, creativity, and social responsibility among the young leaders.
Earlier in the event, CAA Sahibil delivered a message on behalf of Mayor Sitti Djalia A. Turabin-Hataman, inspiring young learners to embrace leadership and become drivers of meaningful change. She also presented an insightful discussion on proper waste management, encouraging participants to think critically about sustainability and explore creative ways to repurpose plastic waste.
The Isabela B.R.I.C.K.S Program, implemented by the City General Services Office under the leadership of CGS Officer Eugene B. Strong, serves as an innovative waste diversion program that addresses the growing plastic waste challenge by shredding discarded plastics and bottles and transforming them into useful, community-beneficial products. The City was honored with the 2025 Eco-Innovation Excellence Award by the Department of Environment and Natural ResourcesโEnvironmental Management Bureau (DENR-EMB) IX for its exceptional implementation of multiple initiatives such as the Sea Sweepers, Isabela B.R.I.C.K.S Program, and C.L.E.A.N. Program, implemented by the City General Services Office led by CGS Officer Eugene B. Strong.These waste diversion programs exemplify the city's steadfast commitment to coastal protection, waste diversion, environmental education, and sustainable resource management.

Strong in synergy with City Environment and Natural Resources Officer Albino Orbecido, proudly shares another milestone for its flagship environmental program, โIsabela B.R.I.C.K.S.: Building Resiliency among Isabeleรฑos toward a Clean and Keen Society,โ which was hailed Champion in the 2025 DILG IX Layag Awards for Local Governance under the Environmental Protection Category.
Launched on April 17, 2024, the Isabela B.R.I.C.K.S. Program is a solid waste management initiative that transforms recyclable waste into high-quality eco-bricks, hollow blocks, and artistic eco-footstepsโturning trash into tangible tools for development.
This community-driven initiative empowers Isabeleรฑos through environmental education, waste segregation campaigns, and inclusive livelihood opportunities. Since its launch, community participation in waste segregation has increased by 40%, resulting in the production of 30,000 eco-bricks and 15,000 hollow blocks from diverted recyclable waste.
The Layag Awards for Local Governance, organized by DILG Region IX, honors outstanding local initiatives that promote innovation, sustainability, and people-centered governance across the Zamboanga Peninsula.
