The activity titled โ€œSafe Spaces, Secure Communities: Strengthening Local Governance for School Safetyโ€ was conducted on October 20, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 NN via Zoom Video Conferencing.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) supports initiatives that promote safe, secure, and child-friendly learning environments in our communities. Barangay officials from various barangays in Jaro, Leyte, also participated in the Zoom
video conferencing.

The Municipal Council for the Protection of Children (MCPC), Local Committee on Anti-Trafficking (LCAT-VAWC) and VAWC Desk of the Municipality of Jaro, Leyte successfully held its 3rd Quarter Meeting on October 16, 2026 at the Local Youth Development Office, Jaro, Leyte.
The meeting highlighted the collaborative efforts and accomplishments of the council in ensuring the protection, welfare, and rights of children, women, and youth in our municipality. Updates on programs, case monitoring, and plans for the 4th quarter activities were discussed to further strengthen our advocacy against trafficking and all forms of abuse and exploitation.
We extend our sincere gratitude to all members, partner agencies, and stakeholders for your active participation and unwavering commitment to building a Child-Friendly and VAWC-Free Jaro!

Under the leadership of our MLGOO, Jude Allan S. Villero, the DILG personnel extended our support to the barangays of Jaro, Leyte during the conduct of their 2nd Semester Barangay Assembly, reaffirming the importance of transparency, accountability, and active community participation in local governance.
The Barangay Assembly serves as a vital avenue for barangay officials and community members to discuss accomplishments, present ongoing programs and projects, address challenges, and work together toward meaningful solutions for the betterment of their respective communities.
As DILG staff, we are committed to providing guidance, technical assistance, and support to our barangays in strengthening good governance and ensuring that the voices of the people are heard and valued.

๐Ÿ† Jaro LGU Celebrates the 126th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary! ๐Ÿ†

The Jaro Local Government Unit (LGU) celebrated the 126th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary (PCSA) through a Sportsfest held from September 23 to 30, 2026, carrying the theme โ€œBawat Kawani, Lingkod Bayani: Puso, Dangal, at Galing Para sa Bayan.โ€

Three teams came together to compete in various exciting activities and games, showcasing teamwork, sportsmanship, camaraderie, and passion for service.

The celebration culminated on September 30, 2026, at 1:30 PM at the Jaro Sports Complex, bringing everyone together to celebrate not only the achievements of the participating teams but also the spirit of unity and fellowship among Jaro LGU employees.

Indeed, the celebration was a reminder that every government employee is a servant-hero dedicated to serving the people and the nation. ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ
