The Bureau of Plant Industry โ€“ National Seed Quality Control Services Region VI successfully conducted the Training Course on In**ed Rice Seed Production and Certification for Seed Inspectors last May 11โ€“15, 2026 at J7 Hotel, Bolilao, Mandurriao, Iloilo.

The five-day training enhanced the knowledge and skills of seed inspectors through lectures, discussions, and hands-on activities focused on ensuring quality seed production and certification standards.

Field inspection activities were conducted at Tabucan, Barotac Nuevo, while seed sampling and tagging activities were carried out at WESVIARC Iloilo.

* Incorrect tag size and layout
* Use of an unregistered variety (e.g., ST25 is not registered at the National Seed Industry Council (NSIC) and cannot be certified by BPI through National Seed Quality Control Services)

These tags are fraudulent and NOT issued by BPI.

Laraรฑo from Iloilo City Police Station 3 as our resource speaker, who discussed Republic Act No. 9262 or the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004. The session aimed to raise awareness on womenโ€™s rights, promote gender sensitivity, and empower individuals to stand against all forms of violence.
