On February 25, 2026, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) - Sulu conducted its 2nd Week Ramadan Price Monitoring of LPCC–Jolo, in coordination with the Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO) and the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF).

The team monitored prices of commonly consumed products during Ramadan, including:

Whole Dressed Chicken – ₱180–₱200 per kilo
Eggs – Large: ₱290 | Medium: ₱270 | Small: ₱260
Rice – ₱1,350–₱1,450 per sack

The team also inspected price tags to ensure compliance with Republic Act No. 71 and Article 81 of Republic Act No. 7394 (Consumer Act of the Philippines), which require all retail products to display clear and accurate price tags.

We are pleased to report that all Basic Necessities and Prime Commodities (BNPCs) under DTI jurisdiction remain stable in price.

The next monitoring activity is scheduled for Wednesday, March 4, 2026, during the 3rd Week of Ramadan.

DTI remains committed to ensuring fair pricing and protecting consumers, especially during the holy month of Ramadan.

📍The highly-anticipated Jolo Ramadan Night Market is all set to kick off in the Municipality of Jolo, as the ribbon-cutting ceremony was held last night, February 16, 2026, hosted by the Jolo Municipal Government under the leadership of Mayor Edsir Q. Tan. The event was graced by the First Family, municipal department heads, and employees, who all gathered to officially launch the month-long festivities.

This year's Ramadan Night Market promises to be bigger and better, with over 600 stalls selling a wide array of goods, including delicious food, fresh fruits, ready-to-wear (RTW) items, and other products. The market is expected to attract large crowds of shoppers and foodies alike, all looking to indulge in the sights, sounds, and flavors of the holy month.

To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all visitors, Mayor Tan has organized a monitoring team to keep a close eye on the market. The team will be responsible for ensuring that the place is safe, orderly, and that all food vendors are serving fresh and halal products that are not expired.

Adding to the security measures, a police post will be present throughout the duration of the night market to ensure peace and order. The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) of Jolo will also be on standby, ready to provide immediate response in times of emergency.

Mark your calendars and get ready to experience the sights and sounds of the Ramadan Night Market 2026!
