The Municipal Government of Jones, through the Local Civil Registrarโs Office (LCRO), conducted the Cascading of the 2025 Civil Registration and Vital Statistics and 2024 CBMS and POPCEN Results and Strengthening of the Barangay Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (BCRVS) System Teams on August 18, 2026. Resource speakers Romeo Bautista Rinion Jr., Statistical Specialist II of PSA Isabela; Engr. Justine Alyzza V. Domingo of the MPDC; and Municipal Civil Registrar Andzela P. Manuncia discussed the significance of civil registration, vital statistics, and community-based data in understanding the actual conditions and needs of communities. The discussion highlighted how information on births, deaths, marriages, households, population characteristics, and other demographic and socioeconomic conditions can help barangays identify priorities and make informed decisions.
The activity also emphasized that accurate, complete, timely, and properly managed data are essential to effective governance. Reliable statistics allow barangay officials to measure the progress of programs, determine where resources are most needed, identify vulnerable sectors, and strengthen coordination with the municipal, provincial, and national government. At the same time, participants were reminded of their responsibility to handle community information with confidentiality and respect for privacy, recognizing that behind every record is a person, a family, and a community.
As barangays remain at the frontline of government service, the activity called for stronger commitment to proper registration, accurate recordkeeping, responsible data collection, and meaningful use of statistics. When local data are transformed into informed decisions and concrete action, statistics become more than numbers, they become a tool for better governance and better communities.
