4Ps staff in Kabankalan City help load CV booklets for distribution to 4Ps beneficiaries

October 2, 2026 - The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) introduced the booklet as part of its digital transition and system redesign to speed up service delivery.

The booklets will be distributed for several key reasons:
1. Families can keep the records themselves
2. Faster payouts
3. More accurate data
4. Guidance and monitoring

Focus Group Discussion Highlights Voices of 4Ps Families in Brgy. Oringao

On September 28, 2026, 4Ps NAS children and their parents, along with children with regular cases, took part in a Focus Group Discussion at Florentino Galang Sr. National High School. Participants shared the challenges faced by NAS children, discussed coping strategies and good practices, and offered suggestions to strengthen program implementation.

The discussion was attended by school and community stakeholders, including FGSNHS Principal Jonathan M. Gerangue, Oringao ES Principal Abner Docdocil, ALS representative Marlon N. Padios, Barangay Oringao Midwife Milagros M. Cayetano, and a BSPO representative Mrs. Erlinda M. Auditor. 4Ps Case Managers Marites S. Cabugsa, Michelle C. Pepino, and Klemar G. Cu facilitated the session with fellow City Links and SWAs. Roving bookkeepers served as documenters.

The Focus Group Discussion created space for families and stakeholders to exchange experiences and ideas, helping inform more responsive support for children and families.

Care for the Carers Awards Honored Dedicated Service in Kabankalan City

The Care for the Carers Awarding Ceremony was held on September 25, 2026, at EVACOM in Kabankalan City, recognizing individuals who served the community with commitment and dedication.

Mary Vir Pancho and Judy Ann Telmo received the Pusong Magaling Award. The Pusong Maasahan Award was presented to John Blaire Joplo and Emmalyn Inventor, while Eric Pintor and Armando Niango received the Pusong Matibay Award.

The ceremony also recognized the LGU Links, who faithfully served Pantawid beneficiaries in Kabankalan City. The awards honored their dedication to serving the people of Kabankalan.

Team-Building Activity Focuses on Conducting FGDs for Children with Child Protection Concerns

On September 10, 2026, a team-building session took place at the FLRC in Brgy. Binicuil, Kabankalan City, aimed at enhancing skills in facilitating Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) for vulnerable children. Facilitated by Maam Janalyn C. Pugne, SWO III, and Maam Kian Marie Legaste, SWO II, the activity brought together dedicated case managers, social welfare assistants, and roving bookkeepers from Kabankalan City, Ilog, Cauayan, and Sipalay.

During the activity, four groups showcased their innovative approaches to guiding children, parents, and community stakeholders through meaningful discussions. Participants demonstrated effective use of case management forms and assessment tools to identify issues, risks, existing support systems, and actionable recommendations.

This activity empowered Pantawid Pamilya workers with vital knowledge and practical tools to conduct impactful FGDs, fostering stronger collaboration and better protection for at-risk children.

DSWD-Pantawid Staff Attends Paralegal and Family Law Training

On August 26, 2026, the Kabankalan Training Center hosted an empowering training session on the Fundamentals of Paralegal and Family Law, led by esteemed resource person Attorney Charisse A. Tomaro.

The training drew a diverse group of attendees including LGU Links, Social Welfare Assistants, Roving Bookkeepers, Project Development Officers, and Balik Pagtudlo Volunteers, all united in their commitment to community service.

Inspiring messages from Vice-Mayor Hon. Divina Gracia S. Miranda and SP Member Hon. Helen Q. Ibañez energized the participants, while heartfelt gratitude was extended to Maam Cyril D. Ramos of CSWDO and City Mayor Hon. Benjie M. Miranda for their unwavering support in making the program a success.

Tara Basa Culmination Marks Success of Community Program

August 7, 2026 — In a heartwarming ceremony held at the FLRC in Brgy. Binicuil, the culmination of the Tara Basa program marked a significant milestone in the community's efforts to provide education and support to its members.

The program, initiated by the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) and DSWD 4Ps, brought together 16 dedicated Tara Basa Tutors (4Ps College Graduates), 34 City Links, CSWDO, and DepEd Staff. The tutors worked tirelessly for 15 days last summer to provide tutorial assistance to the community. The program focal of Tara Basa are Geraldine Mejares and Joey Quinco of DSWD 4Ps Kabankalan Operations Office.

As an act of appreciation for their hard work, the Tara Basa Tutors received a total of 5,000 pesos honorarium from CSWDO and a 1,000 pesos cash gift from Mayor Benjie M. Miranda. In her message, Maam Cyril D. Ramos, CSWDO, expressed her gratitude to the 4Ps Tutors for their dedication and commitment to the program.

Hon. Mayor Benjie M. Miranda also showed his support for the program, emphasizing its importance in the community's development. Dr. Xyzette V. Ganza of SDO Kabankalan and Sir Romeo Poyogao, Executive Assistant to the Vice-Mayor, on the other hand, thanked the different programs initiated by DSWD and CSWDO for their positive impact on the community.

FAMILY DEVELOPMENT SESSION ROLL OUT

On August 5, 2026, Balicaocao Highland Resort in Brgy. Orong hosted an inspiring Family Development Session, marking the rollout of the Pagpupunla Modules. A total of 34 City Links and 18 Balik Pagtudlo Volunteers gathered to strengthen community bonds and promote family resilience.

The event was skillfully led by resource persons Maam Janalyn C. Pugne, Social Welfare Officer III, and Ms. Kian Ligaste, Social Welfare Officer II. It was honored by the presence of CSWDO Officer Maam Cyril D. Ramos and Sir Joel Palata, the Executive Assistant to the Mayor.

The activity received strong support from Hon. Mayor Benjie M. Miranda and Hon. Vice-Mayor Divina Gracia S. Miranda. This initiative promises a brighter future for quality conduct of Family Development Sessions across the city, fostering unity and development.

On July 3, 2026, a comprehensive Basic Life Support (BLS) Orientation was successfully conducted. The resource person for the event was Mr. Reyben G. Cantutay, Hospital Administrator of Cauayan District Hospital. The session was attended by 45 DSWD 4Ps Regional Staff, 21 Balik Pagtudlo Volunteers, and 3 LGU Links from the 4Ps program.

Facilitators and activity focal Maybel Niere and Emmalyn Inventor guided participants through essential topics, including the basics of BLS, emergency action principles, and types of life support. Attendees learned vital skills such as performing CPR and responding effectively to choking incidents like on how to perform correctly the back blows, abdominal thrusts, and CPR.

The activity was honored by the presence of Hon. Vice Mayor Divina Gracia S. Miranda and Hon. Mayor Benjie M. Miranda, who expressed their full support for the DSWD frontliners serving the community.
