The Municipal Planning and Development Office of LGU Kapalong conducts the Barangay Development Plan (BDP) Amendment Coaching for seven (7) barangays (Batch 1), namely , Maniki, Gabuyan, Tiburcia, Capungagan, Florida, Mabantao, & Sua-on, providing technical guidance to align priority programs, projects, and activities with updated development needs and local planning frameworks.

The Municipal Planning and Development Office team gathered at Camiguin Island for the Year End Evaluation and Target Setting for FY 2026. A time to review accomplishments, identify areas for growth, and chart the path for an even more impactful year. Grateful for the dedication and hard work of everyone involved. The Municipal Planning and Development Office successfully conducted the Capacity Building Workshop on Logical Framework Formulation on December 10–11, 2025, at the MDRRMO Conference Room, Municipal Compound, Maniki, Kapalong, Davao del Norte. The two-day activity was attended by representatives from different offices of the Local Government Unit of Kapalong.
This workshop is part of the LGU Kapalong administration’s initiative to embed Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation (PME) in all programs, projects, and activities. This is to ensure that every intervention is aligned with development priorities, grounded in evidence-based decision-making, and anchored on Kapalong’s Executive-Legislative Agenda, “Kapalong, Padayon Ta!”.

The program began with the Welcome Message delivered by Ms. Maria Corina R. Timbol, Municipal Administrator. MPDC, EnP. Gemma Cristie L. Vicada, then presented the Rationale, after which MPDO personnel introduced the Logical Framework Analysis.
Participants engaged in Workshop I: Activities and Inputs, with output presentations before lunch. In the afternoon, the group proceeded to Workshop II: Output, Outcome, and Impact, followed by another round of presentations. The two-day workshop concluded with the Ways Forward and Summary of Agreements, and the Closing Message from the MPDC.

The Municipal Government Unit of Kapalong proudly joins the nation in celebrating the 23rd Development Policy Research Month this September 2025 jiving with the theme: “Reimagining Governance in the Age of AI”

LGU Kapalong recognizes this celebration as a call to embrace innovation and harness artificial intelligence in shaping a more efficient and people-centered governance.

CLUP-ZO 2021–2030 TWG Convenes for Final Briefing Ahead of PLUC Evaluation

The Technical Working Group (TWG) for the Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP) and Zoning Ordinance (ZO) for CY 2021–2030 of the Municipality of Kapalong convened on June 25, 2025, at 2:00 PM in the MPDO Conference Room, LGU Compound. The meeting was conducted to brief the TWG members in preparation for the upcoming Provincial Land Use Committee (PLUC) meeting scheduled on July 9, 2025, where the CLUP and ZO will undergo review and evaluation for possible endorsement and approval.

An overview of the 12-step CLUP formulation process was presented, with particular emphasis on Step 10, which focuses on the review, adoption, and approval of the Plan. The activity flow of the PLUC meeting was also discussed in detail, outlining the expected sequence of presentations and the roles of TWG members during the evaluation. Additionally, the structure and content of the Executive Summary, which will serve as the primary presentation during the PLUC meeting, were reviewed. This summary encapsulates the municipality’s vision, development objectives, land use strategies, and zoning proposals.

The CLUP-ZO Communication Plan was also presented and discussed as part of the implementation requirement. This plan is essential for ensuring stakeholder engagement, public awareness, and transparency throughout the implementation phase of the CLUP. The meeting concluded with a brief open forum and the finalization of deliverables, reaffirming the LGU’s commitment to evidence-based planning and participatory governance in line with national spatial development policies.
