In celebration of the 77th Araw ng Kapatagan and as the official kick-off activity for the National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM) 2026, the Local Government Unit of Kapatagan successfully conducted a Tree Growing Activity at Barangay Suso, Kapatagan, Lanao del Norte.
The activity gathered the collective efforts of Municipal Officials headed by Municipal Mayor Beth Q. Baguio-Ali and Municipal Vice Mayor Barry Y. Baguio, LGU Kapatagan employees, Barangay Officials, National Line Agencies, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), residents of Barangay Suso, and dedicated volunteers, all united by a common goal of promoting environmental conservation and strengthening community resilience against the impacts of climate change and natural disasters.
Mayor Beth Baguio-Ali expressed her heartfelt gratitude to everyone who took part in the activity. She thanked all partner agencies, organizations, volunteers, and the people of Barangay Suso for their support and active participation.
During the program, Vice Mayor Barry Y. Baguio encouraged participants to continue protecting and nurturing the environment, emphasizing that every tree planted today is an investment in a safer, and more resilient Kapatagan for future generations.
More than just planting trees, this activity symbolizes the municipality's commitment to sustainable environmental management, climate change adaptation, and building a disaster-resilient community. Together, we continue to nurture not only trees but also hope for a greener, stronger, and more sustainable Kapatagan.
