The Brigada Taniman: Gulayan sa Paaralan activity, in partnership with Greenhill Elementary School (ES) and Greenhill High School (HS) at Barangay Greenhill, President Roxas, aims to promote environmental awareness, sustainable gardening, and food security within the school community. With the support of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of President Roxas, headed by Mayor Jaime H. Mahimpit, the initiative encourages collaboration among school personnel, learners, parents, and community members in preparing garden plots, planting vegetables, and maintaining a productive school garden. This activity seeks to support school-based nutrition programs, promote healthy eating habits, and develop learners’ appreciation for agriculture, environmental stewardship, and community cooperation while strengthening partnerships between schools and the local government toward a greener and more sustainable school environment.

The monitoring of the Brigada Taniman activities conducted by the office is essential to assess the survival and growth of planted seedlings, ensure proper maintenance and care, and evaluate the overall impact of the greening initiative. The monitoring was conducted at Badiangon Elementary School, Badiangon High School, and Arakan Central Elementary School to check the condition of the planted seedlings, assess the schools’ maintenance practices, and identify necessary interventions to ensure the sustainability of the initiative. This activity reinforces the office’s commitment to environmental protection, sustainable greening, and promoting environmental awareness among learners and school personnel.

METRO AVC-PMO | MATALAM NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL LINAO

The Linao immersion students, in collaboration with the Metro Arakan Valley Complex – Project Management Office (METRO AVC-PMO), participated in a hands-on avocado grafting activity at the METRO AVC Nursery. With guidance from METRO AVC personnel, the students learned the proper techniques of grafting, including preparing the rootstock and scion, joining plant tissues, and securing the graft to promote successful growth. The activity enhanced their practical skills in plant propagation and nursery management while emphasizing the importance of producing quality planting materials to support sustainable agriculture, fruit production, and future livelihood opportunities in the Metro Arakan Valley Complex.

The Metro Arakan Valley Complex - Project Management Office Administrator Dr. Taya U. Tagitican, together with the PRRI Executive Director III Dr. Cheryl L. Eusala, and LGU Magpet Mayor Hon. Jay Laurence S. Gonzaga conducted a site visitation at the proposed area for Agri-Trading Center of worth 220,960,000 and DA-PRRI Regional/Satellite office at Brgy. Gubatan, Magpet.

The Agri-Trading Center will serve as a centralized facility for the trading, consolidation, and distribution of agricultural products, providing farmers with better market access, fairer prices, and improved income opportunities while strengthening the local agricultural economy. In addition, the DA-PRRI Regional/Satellite office will serve the farmer beneficiaries through trainings and capability buildings along with the provision of improved rubber planting materials.
