LGU Magpet successfully conducted the 48th National Disability Rights Week Celebration at the Municipal Gymnasium on July 21, 2026. The event featured a Medical and Dental Mission, Libreng Gupit, and Manicure/Pedicure Services for the participants.
The celebration also included a culmination program with inspiring messages from Kidapawan City PDAO Head Mr. Louie Quebec, Region XII PWD Focal Person Ms. Junaina G. Guru, RSW, and Keynote Speaker Atty. Mark Anthony Bartolome, LPT, a proud member of the PWD community of Magpet. Also with our Filipino Sign Language Interpreter,Ms. Nemia Garsuta,LPT.
Our heartfelt gratitude to Mayor Jay Laurence S. Gonzaga for his unwavering support and commitment to the Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) of Magpet.
Vice Mayor Florenito T. Gonzaga, Municipal Councilor Vicenta R. Yunting, Committee Chairperson for Senior Citizens and PWDs, together with Municipal Councilors Marilyn B. Mamon, Hon. Edna A. Dando, Hon. Jun L. Lobaton, and Hon. Rey Gonzaga, graced and led the awarding ceremonies for the Two PWD Achievers, the distribution of ₱10,000 livelihood financial assistance to qualified PWD beneficiaries, awarding of Top 3 Best Accomplishment Report, the Oath-Taking Ceremony of the newly elected officers of the Samahan ng May Kapansanan ng Magpet (CY 2026–2029), and the issuance of assistive devices.
The afternoon was filled with fun and excitement through a Cooking Contest featuring cassava as the main ingredient, a Duet Singing Contest, a Modern Dance Competition, Darts and Chess competitions, parlor games, and a Raffle Draw, showcasing the talents, creativity, sportsmanship, and camaraderie of the PWD community.
Our sincere appreciation goes to all the PWD Presidents for their active leadership and dedication in mobilizing their respective organizations.
Special thanks as well to the PDAO personnel for their hard work, commitment, and tireless efforts in ensuring the success of this celebration. Most importantly, thank you to all our PWD participants, whose enthusiasm, active participation, and inspiring spirit made this event truly meaningful and memorable.
