In celebration of National Women’s Month every March, the City Government of Koronadal actively upholds its commitment to promoting women’s empowerment and gender equality. As part of this meaningful observance, the City Population Office proudly joins and spearheads various activities that highlight the importance of women’s roles in society.

Among the key initiatives conducted are the 𝐀𝐝𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐋𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐝𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐒𝐏 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐥 𝐑𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲, aimed at educating young individuals on responsible health practices; the 𝐰𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐟 𝐩𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐬 every Wednesday as a symbol of solidarity and support for women’s rights; the conduct of 𝐌𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫’𝐬 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬 designed to guide and support pregnant mothers toward safe and healthy motherhood; and the Quiz Bowl, which tests and enhances participants’ knowledge on women’s history, laws, and Gender and Development (GAD).

Through these activities, the City Population Office continues to advocate for informed, empowered, and resilient communities in line with the spirit of National Women’s Month. 💜💜

In celebration of Women’s Month, the City Population Office joined forces with City Human Resource Office to host a fun and meaningful Quiz Bowl held last March 30, 2026, bringing together participants in a fun and meaningful test of knowledge and awareness.

The activity highlighted important topics such as the history of women leaders and notable Filipinas, key laws that protect and empower women, and essential concepts on Gender and Development (GAD). Through this initiative, participants were able to deepen their understanding of the vital roles women play in shaping our society, as well as the importance of promoting gender equality.

The Quiz Bowl was not only an engaging competition but also a platform to inspire learning, empowerment, and appreciation for women’s contributions in the Philippines. 💜💜

Strengthening families starts with understanding 💙

On March 19, 2026, the City Population Office successfully conducted the Learning Package on Parent Education at Nelmida Elementary School, Brgy. Assumption.

Not only were parents guided on how to effectively live and connect with their adolescents, but the adolescents were also empowered to better understand and relate with their parents. This two-way learning fostered respect, open communication, and deeper family connections.

The activity concluded with a heartfelt Parent-Child Encounter, creating a special moment for families to bond, express, and strengthen their relationships.
Indeed, when both parents and children learn together, families grow stronger together 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦✨

March 23–24, 2026, 20 SSLG officers of Bacongco National High School stepped forward to grow, lead, and inspire ✨

The Peer Educators Training was designed to capacitate and empower these student leaders with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to become effective peer educators and positive role models in their school and community. It aimed to strengthen their ability to communicate, support, and guide fellow students through relevant and real-life issues.

Through engaging discussions on teenage pregnancy, responsible social media use, personality types, body appreciation, and essential life skills, participants deepened their self-awareness and developed a stronger sense of responsibility as youth leaders.

Now equipped and inspired, these young educators are ready to create safe spaces, spark meaningful conversations, and lead their peers toward informed and empowered choices 💙
