DOSE Technology Business Incubator

The DA-RFO 12 Research Division successfully conducted a two-day Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on March 24–25, 2026, in General Santos City under the DA-BAR funded project, “Expanding the Operations of DOSE-TBI in Region 12.”

The activity brought together a dynamic group of participants, including DOSE-TBI incubatees from Cohorts 1 to 3 and technology generators from Amas, Balindog, and Tupi Research and Experiment Stations uniting key players in research, innovation, and enterprise development.

Led by DOSE-TBI Project Leader Dr. Ray A. Rodriguez, the FGD served as a vibrant platform for collaboration and knowledge exchange. Participants openly shared their journeys, highlighting challenges encountered, and milestones achieved throughout the incubation process.

Discussions focused on the experiences and challenges of incubatees, as well as the support mechanisms provided by incubators. Insights underscored the importance of responsive support systems, continuous mentoring, and capacity-building initiatives in helping agripreneurs grow and succeed.

The activity also showcased inspiring best practices and success stories, demonstrating the tangible impact of the DOSE-TBI program. More importantly, it provided a venue to identify gaps, address areas for improvement, and generate actionable recommendations to further enhance the TBI program ensuring it remains relevant, inclusive, and responsive to the evolving needs of its stakeholders.

Through open dialogue, workshop sessions, and collaborative exchange of ideas, participants developed concrete strategies aimed at strengthening program implementation, improving support services, and fostering a more resilient and sustainable incubation ecosystem.

This initiative reflects DOSE-TBI’s continued commitment to empowering innovators, supporting startups, and transforming research-based technologies into viable and impactful enterprises for the agriculture sector.

The 𝐭𝐰𝐨-𝐝𝐚𝐲 event showcased the 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐮𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐬 and featured 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 where research stations presented their matured technologies and pitched them for potential commercialization.

Supported by expert evaluators from the 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐃𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐀𝐌𝐀𝐃), the activity helped participants strengthen their strategies and enhance the commercial readiness of their innovations. TechnoSpark 2025 also honored 𝐂𝐨𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝟏 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝟐 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐮𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐬 who successfully graduated from the DOSE-TBI incubation program.

The two-day training, facilitated by 𝐌𝐬. 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐧 𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐥𝐨 from DTI General Santos City covered key topics on 𝑏𝑟𝑎𝑛𝑑𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑝𝑎𝑐𝑘𝑎𝑔𝑖𝑛𝑔, 𝑝𝑟𝑜𝑑𝑢𝑐𝑡 𝑝𝑟𝑜𝑚𝑜𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛, 𝑚𝑎𝑟𝑘𝑒𝑡 𝑑𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑙𝑜𝑝𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡 and practical tips on 𝑚𝑎𝑟𝑘𝑒𝑡 𝑚𝑎𝑡𝑐ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑏𝑢𝑠𝑖𝑛𝑒𝑠𝑠 𝑠𝑢𝑝𝑝𝑜𝑟𝑡 𝑠𝑒𝑟𝑣𝑖𝑐𝑒𝑠. 𝐌𝐬. 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐥𝐨 highlighted the importance of strong product presentation, design, and brand identity in attracting customers and improving market competitiveness. She was joined by 𝐌𝐫. 𝐄𝐝𝐦𝐚𝐫 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐚𝐧, who shared valuable insights and strategies on expanding market reach and improving enterprise visibility. Participants also engaged in interactive discussions and a workshop activity that allowed them to apply the concepts learned.

On 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟏𝟗, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓, DOSE-TBI had the privilege of serving as a poster judge during the 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 (𝐒𝐓𝐓𝐏) 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐗𝐈𝐈 𝐃𝐞𝐦𝐨 𝐃𝐚𝐲, organized by the DOST-Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) in partnership with DOST Region XII and Leave a Nest Philippines serving as the training provider. The event was held at the 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭 𝐇𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐥, 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐬 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲.

The Demo Day served as the culminating activity of the STTP, where 12 scholar teams—selected from an initial pool of 100—presented innovative projects addressing challenges in agriculture, medical science, sustainability, education, and infrastructure.

As part of its commitment to support young innovators, DOSE-TBI presented the 𝐃𝐎𝐒𝐄’ 𝐂𝐡𝐨𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 to two outstanding teams, 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐄𝐱 and 𝐒𝐀𝐆𝐈𝐍𝐇𝐀𝐖𝐀.

DOSE-TBI extends its heartfelt gratitude to the STTP organizers and staff for their full assistance to its representative throughout the event.

𝐃𝐎𝐒𝐄-𝐓𝐁𝐈 successfully concluded its product showcase during the 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐤𝐮𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓, held on 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟏𝟓–𝟏𝟖 in 𝐓𝐚𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐒𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐚𝐧 𝐊𝐮𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐭.

The four-day celebration served as a meaningful platform to highlight the creativity, dedication and hard work of DOSE-TBI’s incubatees and farmers.

The exhibit proudly featured the innovative products of DOSE-TBI’s very own incubatees: Sox Food Products Manufacturing, which showcased its 𝐎𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐜 𝐂𝐨𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐮𝐭 𝐒𝐮𝐠𝐚𝐫, a healthy and sustainable sweetener alternative and 𝐊𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐫𝐮𝐦 , which introduced its unique line of mushroom-based innovations.

| The 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐝 𝐎𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐄𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐞 – 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐮𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐃𝐎𝐒𝐄-𝐓𝐁𝐈) 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭, in partnership with the 𝐎𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐜 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐞𝐥 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 (𝐎𝐏𝐀𝐌𝐂𝐎), successfully held an on-site training on 𝐅𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐬 last 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟖, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓, in 𝐀𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐞𝐥, 𝐒𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞.

The training focused on the formulation and analysis of feeds for 𝑠𝑤𝑖𝑛𝑒, 𝑝𝑜𝑢𝑙𝑡𝑟𝑦, 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑠𝑚𝑎𝑙𝑙 𝑟𝑢𝑚𝑖𝑛𝑎𝑛𝑡𝑠, aiming 𝐭𝐨 𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐩 𝟏𝟓 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐮𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐬 with science-based knowledge and hands-on skills in producing cost-effective, balanced, and sustainable feeds tailored to each type of livestock.

We are proud to have 𝐃𝐫. 𝐂𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐨 𝐏𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐬 as our mentor and resource person for this training. 𝐃𝐫. 𝐏𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐬provided expert guidance, practical demonstrations, and technical insights, ensuring that participants gained valuable knowledge for immediate application on their farms.

A key highlight of the training was the introduction of the 𝐎𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐜 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐞 𝐑𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐢𝐱 (𝐎𝐂𝐑𝐌) as an innovative feed product developed for commercialization. The 𝐎𝐂𝐑𝐌 is currently undergoing patent and utility model application with the 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐲 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 (𝐈𝐏𝐎).

To ensure the effective transfer of this technology, t𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐎𝐂𝐑𝐌 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚𝐝𝐨𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐛𝐲 𝐎𝐏𝐀𝐌𝐂𝐎, supporting its goal of advancing organic and sustainable livestock production.

This initiative is 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐎𝐏𝐀𝐌𝐂𝐎’𝐬 𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐮𝐫𝐬 through the 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐮𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐓𝐁𝐈) 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦, paving the way for healthier livestock, increased productivity, and more resilient farming communities.

The second day of the 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐝 𝐎𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐄𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐞 – 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐮𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫 (𝐃𝐎𝐒𝐄-𝐓𝐁𝐈) training held on 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟖, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓, focused on enhancing the incubatees’ foundational business management skills through a session on 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐜 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐤𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠.

The session was led by 𝐌𝐫. 𝐑𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐲 𝐉𝐮𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐳𝐚, 𝐂𝐏𝐀, who shared practical insights and financial management tools vital for startup enterprises. Participants learned essential accounting principles, the importance of accurate recordkeeping, and how these practices contribute to sustainable business growth.

To express gratitude for his invaluable contribution, a 𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 was awarded to Mr. Juaneza by 𝐃𝐫. 𝐑𝐚𝐲 𝐀. 𝐑𝐨𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐮𝐞𝐳, DOSE-TBI Project Leader, joined by 𝐌𝐫. 𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐆. 𝐕𝐢𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐚 and 𝐌𝐬. 𝐀𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚 𝐂𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐟𝐢𝐧. This was followed by the awarding of 𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 to the incubatees in recognition of their active involvement and commitment to the two-day training.

Before formally closing the program, Dr. Rodriguez presented his 𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 for the DOSE-TBI project and facilitated an open forum where participants were encouraged to share their 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐬, 𝐬𝐮𝐠𝐠𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬.

With renewed knowledge and strengthened entrepreneurial spirit, the training concluded successfully, marking another milestone for the Cohort 3 incubatees on their startup journey.

The program commenced with a warm and enthusiastic welcome message from 𝐌𝐬. 𝐀𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚 𝐂𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐟𝐢𝐧, setting a positive and engaging tone for the day’s activities. This was followed by 𝐌𝐫. 𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐆. 𝐕𝐢𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐚, who presented the rationale for the training. He outlined the program’s objectives, anticipated outcomes, and its significance to the participants’ entrepreneurial journeys. 𝐌𝐫. 𝐕𝐢𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐚 also emphasized the importance of fostering innovation and sustainability within the startup ecosystem, in alignment with the goals of the DOSE-TBI initiative.

𝐃𝐫. 𝐑𝐚𝐲 𝐀. 𝐑𝐨𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐮𝐞𝐳, the Project Leader, delivered an inspiring message that highlighted the value of perseverance, creativity, and collaboration in enterprise development. He also encouraged the incubatees to actively participate in all training modules prepared by DOSE-TBI and to meet the graduation requirements in order to successfully complete the incubation program.
