₱20.48-M ILLEGAL DRUGS SEIZED, 5 ARRESTED IN NATIONWIDE PNP BUSTS

The Philippine National Police, under the command of PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., seized illegal drugs and controlled substances worth a combined ₱20,482,056.00 and arrested five suspects as anti-drug operations across the country from October 1 to 3, 2026 yielded major recoveries of suspected shabu, ma*****na, Kush, and fentanyl-related substances.

The series of operations began with a major ma*****na seizure in Urdaneta City, Pangasinan, where an 18-year-old Filipino female known by the alias “Thaimie” was arrested during a buy-bust operation conducted from October 1 to 2. Police recovered approximately 27,730 grams of suspected ma*****na leaves valued at ₱3,327,600.00 and 511 grams of Kush worth ₱1,533,000.00, bringing the value of the seized drugs to ₱4,913,400.00. A caliber .22 revolver, buy-bust money, and other non-drug items were also recovered.

The following day, October 2, brought a series of significant shabu seizures. In Brgy. Balugo, Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental, a 35-year-old Filipino male known by the alias “John,” an identified high-value individual, was arrested with approximately 1,150 grams of suspected shabu valued at ₱7,820,000.00.

In Iligan City, a 42-year-old Filipino male known by the alias “John Jeffry” was arrested in Brgy. Santiago with approximately 133 grams of suspected shabu worth ₱904,400.00. In Brgy. Carmen, Cagayan de Oro City, another high-value individual, a 26-year-old Filipino male known by the alias “Rich,” was arrested with 157.32 grams of suspected shabu valued at ₱1,069,776.00.

Also on October 2, authorities intercepted two parcels at a cargo facility in the Clark Freeport Zone, Mabalacat City, Pampanga. The shipments originated from Shijiazhuang, China, and were sent by a trading company based in the same city to a consignee in the Philippines. Examination yielded approximately 4,190 milliliters of suspected 3-Methyl Butyryl Fentanyl valued at ₱1,466,500.00 and 630 milliliters of suspected Fentanyl worth ₱220,500.00, for a combined value of ₱1,687,000.00. The operation was led by PDEA Region III.

The nationwide string of operations extended into October 3, when police in Brgy. Cuaming, Inabanga, Bohol, arrested a 38-year-old Filipino male known by the alias “Condring,” an identified high-value individual, and seized approximately 601.1 grams of suspected shabu valued at ₱4,087,480.00. Another high-value individual, a 57-year-old Filipino male known by the alias “Jaime,” eluded arrest and is the subject of manhunt operations.

PGEN Nartatez underscored the importance of sustained police action in disrupting the illegal drug trade and keeping dangerous substances away from communities.

“Every successful seizure keeps dangerous substances away from our communities. We will remain focused on lawful enforcement, solid evidence, and holding those responsible accountable under the law,” PGEN Nartatez said.

“Hindi natin hahayaang maging transit point ng ipinagbabawal na gamot ang ating mga pamayanan. Kakasuhan at pananagutin natin ang mga lalabag sa batas sa pamamagitan ng disiplinado at lehitimong operasyon ng pulisya,” he added.

The accomplishments reflect the PNP Focused Agenda, a framework that strengthens police service and translates priorities into results, particularly through Enhanced Managing Police Operations in the focused and lawful fight against illegal drugs.

130 FOREIGN NATIONALS ACCOUNTED FOR IN ZAMBOANGA SIBUGAY FORCED-LABOR PROBE AMID ARMED CLASH

The Philippine National Police, under the leadership of PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., backed a government operation in Zamboanga Sibugay that accounted for 130 foreign nationals amid an armed encounter on October 2, 2026.

The operation was conducted in Barangay Tandiong Muslim, Alicia, Zamboanga Sibugay, by personnel of the Bureau of Immigration (BI), National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), and the Police Intelligence Unit and Alicia Municipal Police Station of the Zamboanga Sibugay Police Provincial Office. It stemmed from allegations of forced labor and the employment of foreign nationals without the required visas or immigration documents.

An armed encounter transpired between the operating government personnel and unidentified armed individuals during the operation. Two Chinese nationals were wounded and immediately brought to Alicia District Hospital for medical treatment before being referred to Zamboanga Medical Center for further medical attention.

A total of 130 foreign nationals were accounted for, consisting of 120 Chinese, four Indonesians, three Malaysians, and three Myanmar nationals. They were placed under the custody of the BI and NBI and subsequently brought to Purok 2, Barangay Kimos, Siay, Zamboanga Sibugay, for consolidation and proper disposition.

Their immigration status, individual circumstances, and possible involvement in any unlawful activity remain subject to verification and investigation by the competent authorities. Meanwhile, the identities, whereabouts, and subsequent status of the unidentified armed individuals involved in the encounter remain subject to further investigation.

“This operation highlights the importance of decisive law enforcement action when there are indications of exploitation and immigration violations. Our personnel must remain alert, disciplined, and committed to protecting people while carrying out their lawful duties,” PGEN Nartatez said.

“Hindi tayo magpapabaya sa mga sitwasyong maaaring maglagay sa panganib sa buhay at seguridad ng mga tao. Sisiguraduhin nating naaayon sa batas ang ating mga hakbang at mananagot ang sinumang mapatutunayang lumabag sa batas,” he added.

SWISS FUGITIVE, 17 MOST WANTED NETTED IN MASSIVE PNP SWEEP

The Philippine National Police, under the command of PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., arrested 18 wanted persons, including 17 Regional Most Wanted Persons and a Swiss national, in separate warrant operations across the country on October 2, 2026.

In Region 2, police arrested two Regional Most Wanted Persons in Isabela. A 63-year-old man ranked Regional No. 9 was arrested in Echague for r**e by sexual assault, with bail, while a 29-year-old man ranked Regional No. 3 was arrested in Benito Soliven for four counts of qualified r**e of a minor, with no bail.

In Region 5, four Regional Most Wanted Persons were arrested. These included a Regional No. 3 wanted for qualified r**e in Camarines Norte; a Regional No. 6 wanted for three counts of statutory r**e in Camarines Sur; a Regional No. 10 wanted for violations of Republic Acts Nos. 9165 and 10591 in Camarines Norte; and a Regional No. 4 Most Wanted Person of PRO 3 arrested in Sorsogon for five counts of r**e. All four cases were with no bail.

In Region 6, police arrested three Regional Most Wanted Persons: a Regional No. 5 wanted for r**e in Iloilo City; a Regional No. 8 wanted for statutory r**e in Aklan; and a Regional No. 6 wanted for qualified r**e of a minor in Iloilo. All three were with no bail.

In Region 11, three Regional Most Wanted Persons were arrested, including a Regional No. 2 wanted for murder in Davao del Sur, a Regional No. 7 wanted for qualified r**e in Davao Oriental, and a Regional No. 8 wanted for r**e in Davao de Oro. All were with no bail.

In Region 4B, police arrested a Regional No. 6 wanted for statutory r**e in Marinduque and a Regional No. 10 wanted for two counts of violation of Republic Act No. 10883 in Palawan. Both cases were with no bail.

In the National Capital Region, police arrested a Regional No. 7 Most Wanted Person in Quezon City for qualified r**e, sexual assault, and two counts of acts of lasciviousness. The qualified r**e charge was with no bail, while the other charges were with bail.

In Region 12, a 17-year-old CICL ranked Regional No. 10 for r**e in Sultan Kudarat was taken into custody, with no bail.

In Region 13, police arrested the Regional No. 1 Most Wanted Person in Agusan del Sur for nine counts of qualified r**e of a minor, with no bail.

Meanwhile, in the Negros Island Region, police arrested a 48-year-old Swiss national in Larena, Siquijor, for adultery, with bail. The suspect was placed under the custody of Larena Municipal Police Station.

The arrests demonstrate the PNP’s sustained pursuit of wanted persons through focused warrant operations conducted by police stations, intelligence units, mobile forces, CIDG, PNP SAF, and other operating units across the country.

“We will sustain our focused pursuit of wanted persons and ensure that those with standing warrants are brought before the proper courts. Every lawful arrest strengthens accountability and advances the justice process while respecting due process and the rule of law,” PGEN Nartatez said.

“Hindi titigil ang ating kapulisan sa paghahanap sa mga wanted persons. Patuloy nating ipatutupad ang mga warrant of arrest nang naaayon sa batas at sisiguraduhin nating maihaharap sa tamang proseso ng hustisya ang mga taong hinahanap ng hukuman,” he added.

The loud blast that briefly alarmed students and school personnel at a school in Isulan, Sultan Kudarat, on September 30, 2026, was traced to an electrical fault and was not caused by gunfire, based on the initial assessment of authorities.

Upon receiving the report, personnel of the Isulan Municipal Police Station immediately responded and secured the area to ensure the safety of the students, teachers, and school personnel. An initial inspection found no fired cartridge cases, bullet marks, fi***rm, or other physical evidence indicative of a shooting incident.

Police authorities likewise coordinated with school officials and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) for further assessment and verification.

Based on the BFP’s findings, the loud sound was caused by an electrical short circuit involving a deteriorated service-drop wire, which produced a loud electrical discharge and resulted in limited fire damage in the area.

No injuries were reported. Sixteen students reportedly fainted during the momentary commotion, but none sustained injuries.

The BFP also found no incendiary materials or other suspicious circumstances and recommended that the incident be considered closed, subject to the submission of its official investigation report.

Police Regional Director PBGEN ALAN B MANIBOG emphasized that reports involving school safety are immediately acted upon, while facts are carefully verified before conclusions are made.

“Kapag may ganitong report, agad tayong reresponde para matiyak ang kaligtasan ng ating mga estudyante, g**o, at school personnel. Kasabay ng mabilis na response, mahalaga rin ang maingat na validation upang malaman ang tunay na pinagmulan ng insidente at maibigay sa publiko ang tama at kumpirmadong impormasyon.”

𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝟭𝟮 — A routine security inspection inside a school premises led to the recovery of a caliber .45 pistol and the rescue of a 17-year-old student in an incident at Notre Dame of Matalam, Poblacion, Matalam, Cotabato, on October 1, 2026.

At about 7:30 AM, personnel of the Matalam Municipal Police Station, together with duty security guard of Notre Dame of Matalam, conducted police visibility and security monitoring within the school premises to help ensure the safety of students, teachers, and school personnel.

During the routine inspection of students and motorcycles entering the school, the security guard discovered inside a black sling bag placed in the compartment box of a black-and-gray Honda Click motorcycle a Model 1911 U.S. Army caliber .45 pistol with serial number along with one magazine containing eight rounds of caliber .45 am******on.

The motorcycle was reportedly being driven by Alias “LJEM,” 17, a Grade 12 student and resident of Purok 4, Barangay Sanggadong, Kabacan, Cotabato.

Upon discovery of the fi***rm, the security guard immediately alerted the police personnel present in the area. The responding officers secured the fi***rm and am******on and rescued the minor from the situation, prioritizing her safety and welfare.

The minor was subsequently brought to Matalam MPS for proper assessment, documentation, and appropriate intervention, in coordination with her parents or guardians and concerned authorities, consistent with existing laws and procedures governing children in conflict with the law.

Initial inquiry indicated that the fi***rm allegedly belonged to the minor’s father, who reportedly forgot to remove it from the motorcycle before the minor used the vehicle to go to school.

The recovered fi***rm and am******on have been secured for proper documentation, verification, and disposition. Matalam MPS is also coordinating with the school administration and concerned police units as the circumstances surrounding the incident continue to be verified.

PBGEN ALAN B MANIBOG, Regional Director, Police Regional Office 12, commended the immediate action of the school security personnel and Matalam police officers in securing the fi***rm and ensuring the safety of the minor.

𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝟏𝟐 – A total of more or less 1,028.69 grams of suspected ma*****na, with an estimated value of ₱51,435, was seized during an anti-illegal drugs operation conducted in Barangay Sulit, Polomolok, South Cotabato, from 9:15 PM on October 2, 2026.

Personnel of the Polomolok Municipal Police Station, in coordination with PDEA 12, conducted a buy-bust operation that resulted in the arrest of alias “Sherwin,” and alias “Shawn.” Recovered during the operation were one sachet of suspected ma*****na allegedly sold during the transaction and several sachets and a large opened plastic bag containing suspected dried ma*****na stalks, leaves, and seeds reportedly recovered from the possession of the suspects. A ₱500 buy-bust money and two pack bags were also recovered.

The suspected ma*****na will be submitted to the South Cotabato Provincial Forensic Unit (SCPFU) for laboratory examination. A case for violations of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) is being prepared for filing before the Provincial Prosecutor’s Sub-Office in Polomolok, South Cotabato.

𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝟏𝟐 - From October 2 to 3, 2026, Police Regional Office 12 recorded eight (8) operations and activities against loose fi***rms, resulting in the arrest of one (1) individual, confiscation of one (1) fi***rm, and the voluntary surrender, deposit, or turnover of seven (7) fi***rms.

The operations were conducted across the region, with fi***rms accounted for in Sarangani, South Cotabato, Cotabato, and Sultan Kudarat. Among the fi***rms recovered was a .357 Magnum revolver seized during a buy-bust operation in Polomolok, South Cotabato, which also resulted in the arrest of alias “Jatj-at.” The other seven fi***rms were voluntarily surrendered, deposited, or turned over to police units.

Meanwhile, under the ADFER/Revitalized KATOK initiative, PRO 12 conducted 29 house visitations covering 34 fi***rms. One fi***rm had renewed registration, three were undergoing renewal, six were deposited for safekeeping, seven were under other verified statuses, while 17 were not inspected. All recovered, surrendered, deposited, and turned-over fi***rms were placed under the custody of the concerned police units for documentation and proper disposition.

𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝟏𝟐 – Two men were arrested for alleged violation of Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Law on Fi****ms and Am******on Regulation Act, during an anti-carnapping and traffic enforcement operation in Kabacan, Cotabato, on September 30, 2026.

Arrested were alias “Poldo”, 20 years old, single, farmer, and alias “Waren”, 27 years old, married, farmer, both residents of Barangay Barongis, Pikit, Cotabato.

At about 10:40 PM, personnel of the Kabacan Municipal Police Station, and the Regional Highway Patrol Unit 12, NCPHPT, were conducting an anti-carnapping operation and enforcing traffic laws along the National Highway in Poblacion, Kabacan, when they flagged down a white Suzuki minivan for a seatbelt violation.

During the operation, alias “Poldo” was allegedly seen carrying a .45 caliber fi***rm tucked into his waist, prompting the police team to take him into custody. A subsequent lawful search of the Suzuki minivan resulted in the recovery of another fi***rm identified as a 9mm caliber pistol. The two suspects and the recovered fi***rms were brought to the Kabacan Municipal Police Station for proper documentation and appropriate legal proceedings.

PBGEN ALAN B MANIBOG, Regional Director of Police Regional Office 12, emphasized the importance of responsible fi***rms ownership and strict compliance with the law. “Walang puwang ang iligal na pagdadala ng baril. Patuloy nating paiigtingin ang pagpapatupad ng batas upang mapanatili ang kaligtasan at kapayapaan ng ating mga komunidad.”
