The RTWPB-XII successfully concluded its fourth and final leg of the Public Hearings on the minimum wage determination process on October 6, 2026, at the Phela Grande Hotel in General Santos City. The activity gathered a total of 100 participants, from government, labor, management, and from domestic workers, reflecting the diverse sectors engaged in the wage determination process.
The final leg was presided over by RTWPB-XII Vice Chairperson and DEPDev-XII OIC-Regional Director Romel Patrick E. Tanghal. All RTWPB-XII Board Members were present and represented the labor and management sectors. During the hearing, the Board solicited and listened to the positions, views, and manifestations of the participants on matters concerning minimum wage determination, providing stakeholders an opportunity to present their perspectives and contribute to the ongoing wage-setting process.
As part of the activity, RTWPB-XII also presented the summary of outputs gathered from the workshops conducted during the series of Sectoral Consultations. The presentation provided the participants with a consolidated view of the concerns, recommendations, and inputs raised by various sectors during the consultation process, further supporting an informed and participatory deliberation on minimum wage determination in Region XII.
RTWPB-XII extends its appreciation to the participants and stakeholders who actively shared their positions, views, and manifestations throughout the Public Hearings. Special thanks are also extended to the heads and personnel of the DOLE-General Santos City Field Office and the DOLE-Sarangani Province Field Office for inviting and mobilizing participants for the activity. The successful completion of the four-leg Public Hearings marks another important step in RTWPB-XIIโs continuing commitment to a consultative, evidence-based, and tripartite approach to minimum wage determination in the region.
