In a proactive move to guarantee the safety of thousands of returning students across SOCCSKSARGEN, the Bureau of Fire Protection Region 12 headed by Acting Regional Director, 𝐅𝐒𝐒𝐔𝐏𝐓 𝐄𝐃𝐆𝐀𝐑 𝐖 𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐀𝐖𝐀𝐍, 𝐃𝐒𝐂, represented by Chief, Operations Division, 𝐅𝐒𝐔𝐏𝐓 𝐃𝐄𝐒𝐈𝐑𝐄𝐄 𝐒𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐄 𝐒 𝐁𝐀𝐉𝐎, 𝐃𝐒𝐂, officially joined the multi-sectoral convergence meeting for the 2026 𝘕𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘖𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘯 𝘉𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘬 𝘌𝘴𝘬𝘸𝘦𝘭𝘢 (𝘖𝘉𝘌).⁣

The session, organized by the Department of Education (DepEd), took place on June 5, 2026, at the convention hall of The Farm @ Carpenter Hills in Koronadal City.⁣

The convergence meeting brought together the Oplan Balik Eskwela Inter-Agency Task Force (OBE-IATF) to streamline regional logistics, security, public assistance, and health protocols for the official opening of classes for School Year 2026-2027.⁣
⁣
𝐅𝐒𝐔𝐏𝐓 𝐁𝐀𝐉𝐎 took the floor to present BFP 12's comprehensive initiatives, programs, and preparations relevant to the opening of classes. Through this, BFP 12 is committed to promptly and responsibly deliver services to its stakeholders, especially when it comes to the safety and security of SOCKSARGEN Learners.

Hosted by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), the event marked the beginning of the month-long observance of National ICT Month with the theme, “Isang Dekadang Digital: Konektado sa Puso at Serbisyo.” The celebration highlighted the country's decade-long journey toward digital transformation and reinforced the importance of technology-driven public service.⁣

A key highlight of the event was the ceremonial launching of PROVINET and GOVNET Koronadal, initiatives aimed at strengthening government connectivity and enhancing the delivery of public services through reliable and secure digital infrastructure. ⁣

Representing BFP 12, FSUPT JONATHAN A GAZO, DSC, Chief of Information and Communications Technology Service, actively participated in the program, demonstrating the bureau’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote innovation, connectivity, and efficient public service. ⁣

𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒 I Representatives from the Armed Forces and Police Savings and Loans Association, Inc. (AFPSLAI) paid a courtesy visit to Bureau of Fire Protection Region 12 Acting Regional Director, 𝐅𝐒𝐒𝐔𝐏𝐓 𝐄𝐃𝐆𝐀𝐑 𝐖 𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐀𝐖𝐀𝐍, 𝐃𝐒𝐂 on June 3, 2026, at the BFP 12 Regional Headquarters, Prime Regional Headquarters, City of Koronadal.⁣⁣

Led by AFPSLAI General Santos Branch Head, Ms. Wilma T. Odo, and Marketing Specialist, Ms. Janet S. Española, the visit aimed to strengthen existing ties, discuss enhanced services, and explore opportunities for better support for BFP personnel within the region.⁣⁣

FSSUPT EDGAR W TANAWAN expressed appreciation for the initiative, highlighting the value of the partnership in boosting the welfare and morale of fire protection personnel. Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining a collaborative relationship to better serve the members and the community.⁣⁣
