The City of Koronadal Culture and Arts Council held its 2nd Quarter Meeting, bringing together representatives from different sectors to share updates and accomplishments. The session highlighted ongoing efforts to strengthen cultural initiatives and recognize the contributions of local artists.

The session, led by Councilor John Rey "Chow" Rodriguez, Chairperson of the Committee on Tourism Development and History, Arts and Culture, also outlined strategic plans to empower local artists and strengthen cultural development. With these efforts, the council and the city look forward to achieving significant milestones ahead.

The City Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office, in partnership with the Department of Tourism Region XII, successfully kicked off Day 1 of the Filipino Brand of Service Excellence (FBSE) Training, bringing together 50 participants from DOT-accredited tourism establishments and the Philippine National Police–Koronadal City.

The five-day training aims to strengthen the culture of Filipino hospitality and elevate service standards across the city's tourism and frontline sectors. Participants gained valuable insights from our esteemed resource speaker, Ms. Vienna Borro, who shared practical knowledge and best practices on delivering world-class service with a distinctly Filipino touch.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our supportive City Mayor, Hon. Erlinda P. Araquil, for gracing the event with her presence and inspiring participants through her message of commitment to tourism development and service excellence in Koronadal City.

Together, we continue to build a more welcoming, professional, and competitive tourism industry—one excellent service experience at a time.

From May 29–31, 2026, the City of Koronadal proudly joined fellow LGUs from Region XII in the SOX Wellness Tourism Summit held in Arakan, Cotabato Province. Organized and facilitated by the Department of Tourism Region XII and the Local Government Unit of Arakan, the summit highlighted the growing importance of wellness tourism as a sustainable and transformative tourism niche.

Participants engaged in a series of enriching activities, including nature walks, wellness and tourism discussions, and spiritual counseling sessions that promoted holistic well-being, cultural appreciation, and environmental stewardship.

Representing Koronadal City were local wellness and tourism stakeholders, namely Grace Beauty Lounge, Mambukal Hot Spring Resort, DND Naturals, Organikian Urban Farm, and Kablon Farm Products. Their participation showcased the city's commitment to developing diverse wellness tourism experiences and strengthening partnerships within the SOX Region.

Together, we continue to champion wellness, sustainability, and community-based tourism as we position Region XII as a premier wellness tourism destination in the Philippines.

Through the careful documentation and validation of the City Government of Koronadal - City Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office together with the Indigenous Blaan elders, the embroidery designs of the Blaan people in Barangay Assumption, City of Koronadal, have been formally recognized. Each stitch and motif carries with it the wisdom of generations, reflecting stories of survival, resilience, and deep connection to the land, safeguarded by the elders who continue to guide their community.

This effort ensures the embroidery designs of the Blaan people are recorded and preserved for future generations. By honoring the wisdom of the elders, we safeguard a heritage that reflects their journey and worldview. More than documentation, this validation is a commitment to keep traditions alive and celebrate their artistry.

This milestone was made possible through the steadfast leadership of City Mayor Erlinda P. Araquil, MDMG, DPA, and the dedicated support of City Tourism Officer Elric M. Batilaran, MPA, whose priority remains the preservation of indigenous cultural icons.
