Today, 02 June 2026, OWWA Regional Welfare Office XII attended the 2nd Quarter Meeting for the Calendar Year 2026 of the Regional Social Development Committee XII at the National Educators Academy of the Philippines Region 12, General Santos City.

OWWA Regional Welfare Office XII reported on Friday, May 29, that a total of thirty-four (34) repatriated OFWs and one (1) Dependent have been assisted at the General Santos City International Airport, where the fifty one include five (5) OFWs reported to be physically ill, and one (1) human remains.
OWWA reiterates its commitment to assist returning OFWs as part of its mandate in protecting the welfare of our migrant workers. The agency will continue to monitor the situation, further solidify its repatriation efforts, and immediately assist OFWs to the best of its ability.

As part of the continuing service of the agency to OFWs and their dependents, OWWA Regional Welfare Office XII led the OFC Formation and Financial Literacy Training for Paitan Overseas Unity Alliance at the Municipal Town Hall, Municipality of Esperanza, Province of Sultan Kudarat, today, May 28.
The training covered significant areas to holistically develop the association, namely: the roles of its officers, 5 stages of group development, informed fiscal decisions, and among others. OWWAโs programs and services were also discussed, where they were introduced to benefits available to them.
In partnership with LGU Esperanza, through Mayor Charles Federic Ploteรฑa and their PODO, the activity was attended by sixty (60) members of the association.
The Regional Welfare Office XII continues to fulfill its mandate as the Agency forwards the welfare and interests of OFWs and their dependents in the region.

Recognizing the importance of OFW associations, OWWA Regional Welfare Office XII administered OFC Formation with the Binoongan OFW and Family Circle Association, today on May 28 at Brgy. Binoongan, Municipality of Arakan, Province of Cotabato.
In partnership with LGU Arakan, the activity was attended by forty-five (45) members of the association, where they discussed key topics aimed to solidify unity and camaraderie of its members. In addition, the members were also oriented on the available programs and service of OWWA.
OWWA remains steadfast in advancing the welfare of OFWs and their families, staying true to its mission of uplifting lives and building stronger communities.

Today on May 26, OWWA Regional Welfare Office XII organized a Skills Training on Entrepreneurial Mind-Setting with Basic Bookkeeping for Doles OFW and Family Association at the Municipality of Magpet, Province of Cotabato.
The training was attended by fifty (50) association members, in partnership with LGU Magpet through its Public OFW Desk Officer (PODO). With his expertise, Junior Sales Counselor Mr. Mark Anthony J. Aรฑosa of the Department of Training and Industry provided the lecture, in which it seeks to empower the said association members on practical skills for a sustainable livelihood.

To further develop the local OFW communities, OWWA Regional Welfare Office XII conducted a Values-Formation and Organizational Development Training for Bambad OFW Association on May 25 at the Municipality of Isulan, Province of Sultan Kudarat.
The agency trained fifty-five (55) members from the said association through the partnership with LGU Isulan via Mayor Princess Rhian Sakaluran and PODO Mary Gay Apud.
The training covered a wide-range of topics, such as Fundamentals of Communication, Value Redirection and Affirmation, and among others; where it aims to promote and develop the organizational ethics of the association.
The activity was embraced by the association members as they turn overseas experience into a collaborative pursuit for a better and dignified life.

On May 24, the Scholarsโ Conference 2026 hosted by OWWA Regional Welfare Office XII has successfully ended with talks on future activities for scholars.
Conducted at Sarangani Highlands, General Santos Cityโthe arrival of more or less one-hundred and thirty-five (135) scholars from different Higher Education Institutions across Region 12 marked the outset of the conference.
In her opening message, OIC Regional Director Marlyn E. Jamero, CPA valued the power of scholars to make their dreams a reality. She further added that OWWA will always be by their side, supporting them and OFWs on their pursuit for a better life.
With the eventโs theme as โResilient Hearts, Empowered Minds,โ the conference was centered on helping scholars in handling challenges in life, particularly in academics. The event also served as a space where scholars converged minds, brainstormed on future endeavors, and forged connections.
The conference ended with hopes of the scholarsโ participation to future activities of OWWA for the continued advancement of the welfare of OFW families.

Today at Sarangani Highlands, the Scholars' Conference 2026 officially kicks off with the theme, 'Empowered Minds, Resilient Hearts.'
The conference houses one-hundred and thirty-five (135) scholars from different HEIs across Region 12, where they will go under series of activities aimed to capacitate them on academic resiliency. The conference is expected to run for 2 days, likewise giving them the avenue to forge connections as co-scholars.

To foster solidarity and unity among its members, OWWA Regional Welfare Office XII heads the OFC Formation of the SNA OFW Association with a Financial Literacy Training at the Municipality of Senator Ninoy Aquino, Province of Sultan Kudarat, today, May 21.
In partnership with the SNA Local Government Unit through Mayor Raphael George Flauta III, the activity was successfully conducted, which aims to capacitate them on necessary organizational and individual skills.
The Financial Literacy Training comprised of lectures on efficient and effective budgeting, funds management; whereas the OFC Formation covered association development, the roles of its members, and OWWAโs programs and services.
The association welcomed the activity as a further step to our shared goal of building a resilient life for OFWs.
