Municipal Agriculturist Office – Lake Sebu headed by Engr. Marvin C. Aboy, and spearheaded by Mr. Lebert M. Ulo, Farm Superintendent II, along with Mr. Jason John Ulo, MAFC Coordinator and OMAG Team, the office successfully conducted the Municipal Agricultural and Fishery Council (MAFC) Selection Activity within the municipality.

The event was attended by 16 Barangay Agricultural and Fishery Council (BAFC) Coordinators, together with:

- Mr. Marlon S. Relidoco, MAFC Sto. Niño
- Ms. Susanita Limpot, PAFC Coordinator
- Ms. Jennifer Garcia, RAFC Representative

The activity marks another milestone in strengthening agricultural and fishery representation across Lake Sebu, ensuring inclusive participation and leadership for the 2026–2029 term.

OMAG SUCCESSFULLY CONDUCTED BARANGAY AGRICULTURAL AND FISHERY COUNCIL (BAFC) AND SECTORAL REPRESENTATIVES SELECTION

The Municipal Agriculturist Office (OMAg) of Lake Sebu, headed by Engr. Marvin C. Aboy, ABE, successfully conducted the Barangay Agricultural and Fishery Council (BAFC) and Sectoral Representatives Selection Activity today, bringing together agricultural leaders from the different barangays of the municipality.

The activity was facilitated by Mr. Lebert M. Ulo,RAgr. Farm Superintendent II, together with Mr. Jason John Ulo,RAgr. MAFC Coordinator, and the dedicated staff of the Municipal Agriculturist Office.

The event was graced by Hon. Ace B. Ofong, Chairperson of the Committee on Agriculture, whose presence highlighted the Local Government Unit's commitment to strengthening the agricultural and fisheries sector. Also in attendance was Ms. Nenita G. Kinan, CSO Designate, who provided an orientation on the roles, responsibilities, and significance of the organizations in promoting participatory and transparent local governance.

A total of 19 Barangay Agricultural Association Presidents and representatives actively participated in the activity, demonstrating their commitment to empowering farmers, fisherfolk, and other agricultural stakeholders in Lake Sebu.

Importance of the BAFC
The Barangay Agricultural and Fishery Council (BAFC) serves as the grassroots voice of farmers and fisherfolk. It plays a vital role in identifying the needs and priorities of the agricultural and fisheries sector, recommending programs and projects, strengthening community participation, and ensuring that government interventions truly benefit local producers. Through a strong and functional BAFC, barangays become active partners in advancing sustainable agriculture, food security, and rural development.

The Municipal Agriculturist Office extends its heartfelt appreciation to Hon. Antonio G. Fungan Jr. our Municipal Mayor for the support and to all participants, partner agencies, and stakeholders for making this activity a success. Together, let us continue to strengthen our agricultural institutions and work hand in hand toward a more productive, resilient, and sustainable agricultural sector for the Municipality of Lake Sebu.

The activity includes:
1.Orientation on Slaughterhouse operation
2. discussion about its vital contribution on LGU operation.

the activity was led by Mr. Reuel P. Lamzon, Slaughterhouse Master III, who shared valuable information on slaughterhouse operations, management, food safety standards, and best practices. The benchmarking visit aimed to enhance the knowledge, capabilities, and gather insights that can be applied to improve the municipality's slaughterhouse services.
