Lambunao tourism is a blend of its unique culture and nature’s goodness. It is fascinating to note that the streak between the two extreme factors of local tourism has been beautifully intertwined. Lambunao is indeed rich in culture and heritage. The culture of the hinterlands in Central Panay, particularly that of Lambunao, is still well preserved – and Dance is an integral part of that culture. Thus, The Lambunao Binanog Festival was given birth. The local festival is slowly gaining attention from other places. It has drawn in spectators from all walks of life. Lambunao is also blessed with nature’s aesthetic beauty. Mother nature has perfectly carved wondrous destinations in the municipality. Places that could offer tranquility and peace to wanderers and tourists – verdant hills, serene valleys, calm rivers, lush and majestic mountains, hidden lakes and thousand waterfalls. The town has an enormous roster of tourist destinations, some frequently explored and revisited and still a number on the verge of development to be potentially traversed and enjoyed. 𝗦𝗧𝗨𝗗𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗖𝗛 𝗩𝗜𝗦𝗜𝗧

The Municipal Tourism, Culture and Arts Office (MTCAO) welcomed student researchers from the School of Information and Communications Technology of West Visayas State University – Lambunao Campus, who conducted an interview for their proposed study entitled “LambuMate: A Responsive Web-Based Local Recipe Recommendation with Guided Cooking Instructions in Lambunao, Iloilo,” focusing on documenting and promoting the municipality’s traditional dishes and culinary heritage.

𝗦𝗧𝗨𝗗𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗖𝗛 𝗩𝗜𝗦𝗜𝗧

The 5th Year Bachelor of Science in Architecture students of Iloilo Science and Technology University visited Mari-it Wildlife Conservation Park as part of their thesis project entitled “Wildlife Rehabilitation Center.”

Their proposed facility aims to provide a dedicated space for the rescue, rehabilitation and propagation of endangered flora and fauna, addressing wildlife protection and regional biodiversity loss while ensuring biosecurity, safety and operational efficiency.

𝗦𝗧𝗨𝗗𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗖𝗛 𝗩𝗜𝗦𝗜𝗧

The Municipal Tourism, Culture and Arts Office welcomed student researchers from Aklan State University (ASU) – Kalibo Campus who visited Lambunao for their architectural thesis research on a proposed Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Center in Libertad, Antique.

As part of their visit, the student researchers also visited Mari-it Wildlife Conservation Park to learn more about wildlife conservation, facility operations and animal care. The visit included data gathering and key informant interviews to support their architectural research and gain insights that may guide the planning and design of their proposed facility.
