The Provincial Government of Northern Samar, in coordination with the Local Government Unit of Laoang, under the leadership of Mayor Charlene L. Ongchuan, through the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), successfully conducted the Payout of Monthly Incentives for Child Development Workers (CDWs) on October 14, 2026, at the Laoang Center for Sports, Culture, and the Arts.

Child Development Workers from the municipalities of Las Navas, Catubig, San Roque, and Laoang gathered to receive their monthly incentives in recognition of their dedication and invaluable contributions to Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD).

This initiative reflects the continued commitment of the Provincial Government of Northern Samar and the LGU Laoang to recognizing and supporting the dedicated individuals who play a vital role in nurturing young learners and laying the foundation for their growth, learning, and development.

Through their patience, compassion, and commitment, our Child Development Workers continue to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and their communities.

In support of the Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) Program, the Local Government Unit of Laoang, under the leadership of Mayor Charlene L. Ongchuan**, through the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), successfully distributed hygiene supplies to 61 Day Care Centers across the municipality.

This initiative aims to promote proper hygiene, cleanliness, and healthy practices among young learners, helping provide a safer and healthier environment for their growth and development.

Through the continued commitment of the LGU Laoang, we remain dedicated to supporting our Child Development Centers and ensuring the well-being of every child in our community. 💚

📌 OCTOBER 6, 2026 | BUDGET HEARING

The Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), headed by Ms. Jocelyn Giray-Cerbito, presented the Office’s Proposed Budget for FY 2027 during the Budget Hearing.

Hon. Luke Jensen R. Detera, Municipal Vice Mayor and Presiding Officer, facilitated the proceedings and acknowledged the participation of the MSWDO in the budget deliberations.

Also present during the hearing were the PDAO-Designate and GAD Coordinator, reflecting the Office’s commitment to ensuring that its proposed programs and services remain inclusive, responsive, and gender-responsive to the needs of the constituents of Laoang.

The budget deliberation forms part of the Office’s commitment to responsible planning, transparency, and accountability in the delivery of social welfare and development programs and services.
