Theme: One City, One Pride โ€“ Love, Equality, Respect, and Unity ๐Ÿ’–

The City Sociy Welfare and Development Office - Lapu Lapu City through Gender and Development Program, together with the ALIVE Organization led by Ms. Richein T. Avenido and Mr. Ferdie San Mateo, successfully held the Pride Walk 2026 on June 1,2026 with almost 600 participants.

๐Ÿšถโ€โ™€๏ธ The walk started at Hoops Dome Playground, passed through Skina Gun.ob and Humayโ€‘Humay Skina, and returned to Hoops Dome Ground. ๐Ÿค With support from different Sectors in the city : KALIPI โ€“ Lapuโ€‘Lapu City, Akoโ€‘Babae Organization, Solo Parents Federation, and PWD Federation Officers.

โœจThe International AIDS Candlelight Memorial 2026โœจ was successfully held over the two meaningful days under the Gender and Development Program of the City Social Welfare and Development Office, in partnership with the Lapu-Lapu City Health Office headed by Dr. Niรฑo Nino Almirante II.

๐Ÿ“ The first day took place on May 14, 2026 at the Lapu-Lapu City Hall Grounds, while the second day was held at the Mini Hoopsdome, Talima, Olango Island.

๐Ÿ™ We extend our heartfelt gratitude to CSWDO and CHO for their collaboration, and to all participants from the Womenโ€™s Organizations, Barangay Health Workers, City and Barangay Officials, Solo Parents, Persons with Disabilities, Senior Citizens, and the ALIVE Organization. Your presence and support made this annual celebration a success in honoring and remembering those who have passed due to HIV/AIDS.

๐ŸŒˆโœจ Successful GAD Activity at Lapu-Lapu City Jail โ€“ Male Dormitory! โœจ๐ŸŒˆ

On last November 15, 2025, the Gender and Development (GAD) Activity was successfully conducted at the Lapu-Lapu City Jail โ€“ Male Dormitory with the theme:
โ€œPeace and Wellness: Promoting Dignity and Health for LGBTQIA+ Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL)โ€

* 50 participants joined the activity:
- 27 LGBTQIA+ PDLs
- 23 male PDLs (ages 19โ€“27)

The program featured HIV/AIDS 101 Seminar and SOGIESC 101 Session, while participants also received hygiene kits and rice to support their basic needs and ensure their wellness.

โœจ Successful Two-Day Seminar on Leadership Strengthening and Anti-Discrimination Advocacy โœจ

The Gender and Development (GAD) Program of the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) โ€“ Lapu-Lapu City successfully conducted a two-day seminar for the ALIVE Organization Inc. on October 29โ€“30, 2025, with the theme โ€œStrengthening of Leadership in the Association of LGBTQIA+ Individuals Vouching for Equality (ALIVE).โ€

๐Ÿ“ Venue: Shark Resort, Caw-oy, Olango Island, Lapu-Lapu City
๐Ÿ‘ฅ Participants: 30 barangay LGBTQIA+ leaders from across the city

This empowering activity was led by our newly elected ALIVE Federation President, Ms. Chien T. Avenido, with the unwavering support of ALIVE Founder, Maโ€™am Ferdie B. San Mateo, and under the guidance of Ms. Marisheil Cababan Baylosis, Officer-in-Charge of CSWDO, in fostering and implementing initiatives that strengthen our barangay leaders.

โœจ Successful Seminar on SOGIESC 101 & Anti-Discrimination Ordinance โœจ

The City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), through the Gender and Development (GAD) Program, proudly announces the successful conduct of the SOGIESC 101 & Anti-Discrimination Ordinance Seminar held from October 5 to December 13, 2025, with a total of 10 sessions across 28 barangays, including the Olango Island barangays.
