FEATURE: Dannes Macombo found growth and opportunity through the DOLE Government Internship Program (GIP), where she gained valuable experience, strengthened her communication skills, and developed greater confidence in public service.

Although financial challenges led her to leave the program, the knowledge and skills she gained through GIP helped her secure employment in the banking industry and continue pursuing her professional goals.

The program formally opened with welcome remarks from ๐‘ถ๐‘ฐ๐‘ช-๐‘ซ๐’Š๐’“๐’†๐’„๐’•๐’๐’“ ๐‘ฐ๐‘ฐ ๐‘ด๐’“. ๐‘ฑ๐’†๐’“๐’†๐’Ž๐’Š๐’‚๐’‰ ๐‘ป. ๐‘ช๐’‚๐’“๐’๐’๐’”, who warmly welcomed the participants and expressed hope that the initiative would not only provide valuable learning opportunities but also contribute meaningfully to improving the employeesโ€™ livelihoods.

He emphasized that FPC is fortunate to have been selected as a beneficiary of the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP), recognizing the programโ€™s potential to empower workers through sustainable livelihood opportunities.

To enhance the understanding about DILP and its requirements, ๐‘ด๐’”. ๐‘ฌ๐’“๐’Š๐’•๐’›๐’‚ ๐‘ด๐’๐’๐’†๐’‚, ๐‘บ๐’†๐’๐’Š๐’๐’“ ๐‘ณ๐‘ฌ๐‘ถ ๐’‚๐’๐’… ๐‘ซ๐‘ฐ๐‘ณ๐‘ท ๐‘ญ๐’๐’„๐’‚๐’ ๐‘ท๐’†๐’“๐’”๐’๐’, provided an overview of the program. She explained that the DILP is a grant assistance initiative designed to provide disadvantaged workers with opportunities to establish sustainable sources of income.

She discussed the programโ€™s key components, eligibility requirements, prohibited projects, documentary requirements, and the classification of livelihood projects. Ms. Molea also underscored the importance of social preparation in equipping beneficiaries with the knowledge, skills, and readiness necessary to effectively implement and sustain their livelihood projects.

During the latter part of the program, Ms. Molea and the MTPLFO Livelihood Development Specialists conducted the profiling of FPC employees as part of the assessment and preparation process for livelihood assistance.

The activity was made possible through the continuous efforts of the ๐‘ณ๐’‚๐’ƒ๐’๐’“ ๐‘น๐’†๐’๐’‚๐’•๐’Š๐’๐’๐’” ๐‘ผ๐’๐’Š๐’•, ๐’‰๐’†๐’‚๐’…๐’†๐’… ๐’ƒ๐’š ๐‘ด๐’”. ๐‘ฎ๐’†๐’๐’†๐’—๐’Š๐’†๐’—๐’† ๐‘ด. ๐‘ซ๐’† ๐‘ฎ๐’–๐’›๐’Ž๐’‚๐’, ๐‘บ๐’†๐’๐’Š๐’๐’“ ๐‘ณ๐‘ฌ๐‘ถ, in strengthening trade unions and workersโ€™ organizations through training grants aimed at enhancing labor-management relations and union leadership.

The Workers Organization Development Program (WODP) serves as a vital mechanism for strengthening trade unionism and promoting labor-management cooperation.

By providing accessible training and educational opportunities, the program empowers workersโ€™ organizations to become more effective partners in national development.

The Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES) is a flagship program of the Department of Labor and Employment designed to provide temporary job opportunities to qualified students aged 15 to 30 who experience financial difficulties in supporting their education and daily needs.

Through the program, students are able to earn income, gain valuable work experience, and continue their studies at the same time.

He highlighted that the activity was not only a celebration of the 2026 JobStart Philippines Graduation, but also an opportunity for the graduates to explore employment through the Mini Job Fair. He emphasized the importance of training and work experience in improving youth employability and encouraged the JobStarters to continue pursuing success beyond the program.

During the program, OIC-Director II Mr. Carlos delivered a warm message to the beneficiaries and the PESO staff. He highlighted the continuous successful project implementation in the City of Paraรฑaque with the Paraรฑaque PESO Staff. With this, he looked forward to the future programs as the current Livelihood COE Awarding is a vital step in their partnership.

The association was granted an allocation worth โ‚ฑ300,000.00, making ๐“๐Ž๐ƒ๐€๐’ the third (3rd) tricycle association in Paraรฑaque City to successfully qualify for and receive this substantial livelihood assistance this year.
