Pakain Program during the 126th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary Celebration
As part of the Municipality of Lebak's observance of the 126th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary (PCSA), the Human Resource Management Office (HRMO) spearheaded the Pakain Program as a meaningful initiative aimed at promoting unity, camaraderie, employee engagement, and appreciation among government workers.

Prior to the activity, the newly hired and recently promoted employees of the Municipal Government of Lebak convened in a meeting to discuss ways by which they could contribute to making the celebration more memorable and meaningful. Through the encouragement and facilitation of the Human Resource Management Office, these employees voluntarily pooled their resources and personally contributed food and refreshments for the implementation of the Pakain Program.

The activity involved the distribution of food to all offices and departments of the Municipal Government, allowing employees to enjoy a shared meal with their colleagues. Every office was given an opportunity to conduct its own salo-salo, creating a warm and festive atmosphere that fostered interaction, friendship, and stronger working relationships among employees. The activity provided a welcome break from daily work routines and served as an avenue for personnel to celebrate together as one government family.

The Human Resource Management Office spearheaded this activity in recognition of the importance of cultivating a positive organizational culture and strengthening employee morale. As the office responsible for employee welfare, development, and engagement, HRMO continuously promotes initiatives that encourage teamwork, cooperation, and a sense of belonging among personnel.

The Pakain Program also served as a way of acknowledging the valuable contributions of civil servants while providing newly hired and promoted employees with the opportunity to actively participate in organizational activities and demonstrate their commitment to public service.

The activity yielded positive results as it enhanced camaraderie among employees, strengthened inter-office relationships, and fostered greater unity within the workforce. It encouraged interaction among personnel from different offices, promoted a spirit of volunteerism and generosity, and reinforced the values of teamwork and mutual support. Moreover, the activity contributed to improved employee motivation and morale, helping create a more harmonious and supportive work environment.

Overall, the successful conduct of the Pakain Program highlighted the commitment of the Human Resource Management Office to employee engagement and organizational development. Through the collective generosity of the newly hired and promoted employees, the activity became a symbol of appreciation, solidarity, and shared responsibility, reflecting the true spirit of the Philippine Civil Service Anniversary and reinforcing the principle that every government employee plays an important role in delivering quality, responsive, and people-centered public service.

In line with the celebration of the 126th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary (PCSA), the Human Resource Management Office (HRMO) participated in an outreach program for the Persons Under Police Custody (PUPC) at the Lebak Municipal Police Station (MPS). The activity was conducted to extend compassion, encouragement, and support to individuals temporarily deprived of liberty, while promoting the values of integrity, empathy, and inclusive public service among government employees.

The outreach program brought together representatives from various government agencies, the Local Government Unit of Lebak, and uniformed services to share messages of hope and inspiration with the participants.
During the program, Leo P. Lardera, PhD, Human Resource Management Officer II, delivered an inspiring message centered on hope, resilience, and the belief that every circumstance in life has a purpose. In his message, he shared the story of a king who imprisoned his loyal sidekick after an unfortunate incident, only to later discover that the event ultimately saved his and his sidekick's life. Through the story, he emphasized that difficulties and setbacks may serve a greater purpose and that challenges can become opportunities for personal growth, transformation, and redemption.

Also sharing words of encouragement was SSC Arjhon F. Legada of the Philippine Coast Guard, who reminded the participants that their present circumstances do not define their future and that positive change remains possible through faith, determination, and good choices.

Likewise, 2nd Lt. Jerick Rafael D. Jazmin of the 57th Infantry Battalion inspired the participants with a message highlighting the importance of perseverance, discipline, and maintaining hope despite life's adversities.

The highlight of the activity was the distribution of gifts and food packs to the Persons Under Police Custody. The simple act of giving brought joy and comfort to the recipients, reminding them that they remain valued members of the community and that there are individuals and institutions willing to support them in their journey toward renewal and reintegration.

The program concluded with a heartfelt Word of Thanks delivered by Deputy Chief of Police Jasper Garcia, who expressed his appreciation to all partners, volunteers, and participating agencies for their generosity, support, and commitment to uplifting the spirits of those under police custody. As part of the celebration of the 126th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary (PCSA), the Human Resource Management Office (HRMO) actively participated in the GAD Kalinga Outreach Program conducted at the Sultan Kudarat District Hospital (SKDH). The activity served as a meaningful expression of compassion and public service, highlighting the commitment of government employees to extend care and assistance to members of the community, particularly patients and their families who may be facing health and financial challenges.

The outreach program was organized through the collaboration of various offices of the Municipal Government of Lebak, together with partner national government agencies and stakeholders. The initiative was undertaken as part of the municipality's continuing efforts to promote gender-responsive and people-centered governance by addressing the welfare and immediate needs of vulnerable individuals within the community.

During the activity, volunteers visited both in-patients and out-patients at the hospital and distributed essential items intended to provide comfort and support during their medical treatment and recovery. Beneficiaries received snacks, food packs, toiletries, and sacks of rice, which were warmly welcomed by patients and their family members. The distribution of these basic necessities helped ease some of the burdens faced by families while demonstrating the government's concern for their well-being.

The activity also provided an opportunity for government employees to interact personally with patients, offering words of encouragement, empathy, and moral support. Beyond the tangible assistance provided, the outreach fostered a sense of hope and solidarity among the beneficiaries, reminding them that their local government and partner agencies remain committed to serving and caring for the community even beyond regular public services.

Representatives from various municipal offices and participating line agencies worked together throughout the program, exemplifying unity and collaboration in delivering responsive and compassionate public service. Their active participation reflected the spirit of volunteerism and civic responsibility that the Philippine Civil Service Anniversary seeks to promote among government workers nationwide.

The GAD Kalinga Outreach Program successfully embodied the values of malasakit, inclusivity, and social responsibility. It reinforced the importance of extending government services not only through policies and programs but also through acts of kindness that directly touch the lives of people in need. Moreover, the activity emphasized the role of civil servants as catalysts of positive change and community living, demonstrating that public service is best expressed through genuine care, empathy, and dedication to the welfare of others.

During the activity, Dr. Henry Lastimoso expressed gratitude to the Municipal Government of Lebak, participating offices, and partner agencies for their generosity and commitment to extending assistance to patients and their families. He emphasized that initiatives such as the GAD Kalinga Outreach Program not only provide material support but also uplift the morale of patients, reminding them that they are cared for by the community during their time of need.

Through this initiative, the Human Resource Management Office and its partner offices reaffirmed their commitment to promoting gender-responsive governance, compassion, dignity, and inclusive public service, ensuring that no member of the community feels forgotten during times of need. The activity stands as a testament to the enduring values celebrated during the 126th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary, where public service transcends office walls and reaches the very people whom the government exists to serve.

As part of the celebration of the 126th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary (PCSA), the Human Resource Management Office (HRMO), in partnership with the Municipal Health Office (MHO) under the Gender and Development (GAD) Program, successfully conducted the Final Weigh-In for the Biggest Loser Challenge. The activity served as one of the health and wellness initiatives designed to promote healthy lifestyles, physical fitness, and overall well-being among government employees.

The Biggest Loser Challenge officially commenced with the initial weigh-in on March 5, 2026, where participating employees voluntarily enrolled in the program and committed themselves to achieving healthier body weight and lifestyle habits. Over several months, participants engaged in various wellness activities, exercised regularly, adopted healthier eating practices, and monitored their progress with determination and discipline.

The activity was organized in support of the nationwide observance of the 126th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary, a tribute honoring more than two million public servants across the country. The celebration highlights the invaluable role of civil servants in nation-building while promoting programs that nurture excellence, professionalism, and employee welfare in government service. Employees of the Local Government Unit of Lebak actively joined the challenge, demonstrating their commitment not only to public service but also to personal health and wellness.

During the final weigh-in, participants eagerly awaited the results of their efforts. Every aspirant was determined to win and achieve the highest percentage of weight loss. Beyond the competition, however, the activity fostered camaraderie, healthy competition, mutual encouragement, and greater awareness of the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle despite the demands of public service.

The challenge underscored the importance of employee wellness as a key component of organizational effectiveness. Healthy employees are generally more productive, energetic, and capable of performing their duties efficiently. The initiative also supported the objectives of the Gender and Development Program by promoting equal opportunities for all employees to participate in activities that enhance physical and mental well-being.

The successful conduct of the Biggest Loser Challenge has significant implications for civil servants. It reinforces the value of self-care, discipline, and preventive health practices as essential elements of a sustainable public service career. Furthermore, it encourages government employees to become role models within their workplaces and communities by embracing healthier lifestyles.

Through initiatives such as this, the Local Government Unit of Lebak continues to foster a culture that values employee welfare, productivity, resilience, and holistic development.

The activity concluded with the recognition of participants whose dedication and perseverance resulted in notable achievements, while inspiring all employees to continue pursuing healthier and more active lifestyles in the years ahead.
