IN FOCUS: CHED Memorandum Order No. 7, s. 2026, "Amendments to CMO No. 9, s. 2025 or the Updated Guidelines for Scholarships for Staff and Instructors Knowledge Advancement Program (SIKAP) for Full-Time and Part-Time Study" and CMO No. 9, s. 2026, "Guidelines for Scholarships for Staff and Instructors Knowledge Advancement Program for Non-Plantilla/ Non-Regular Personnel" have been discussed by the CHED Central Office, Office of Student Development Services- Graduate Scholarships Division (GSD) via Zoom today, May 26, 2026. GSD Focals and Project Technical Staff of CHED Regional Offices (CHED ROs) attended the virtual orientation.

LOOK: The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Regional Office V conducted a Hybrid Workshop on the Project GAYoN or Guidance Assistance for the Youth Online today, May 25, 2026, at the Lagman Conference Room, CHED RO V.

Participants are the Registered Guidance Counselors (RGCs) of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) with a Memorandum of Agreement with CHED RO V.

As the workshop ended, RGCs created their own accounts, updated their profiles, and set their online counseling schedules on the GAYoN website. Additionally, the task force GAYoN of CHED RO V will also conduct an orientation for the students.

ICYMI: The Bicol Council of Deans/Directors of Student Affairs and Services (BCODDSAS)—Philippine Association of Practitioners of Student Affairs and Services (PAPSAS) Region 5 Chapter, in collaboration with the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office V (CHED RO V), held its General Assembly and Training Workshop last May 22, 2026, at Divine Word College of Legazpi.

The event featured a session entitled, "From Prevention to Response: The Role of Student Affairs and Services in Effective School Crisis Management."

Atty. Hilario S. Caraan, DPA, Managing Lawyer, Chair of the Disciplinary Board at De La Salle University, and Legal Counsel for De La Salle-Supervised Schools across the Philippines, served as the resource speaker.
