SMART AND DIGITAL LEGAZPI CITY: The city government of Legazpi is prepared to address the challenges of becoming a smart and digital city, said Legazpi City administrator Grace Bachiller.

Bachiller represented Mayor Hisham Ismail during the
joint second quarter meeting of the Legazpi Smart City Council and the Legazpi Information Technology and E-Commerce Council this Thursday.

She further urged council members to help transform strategic plans and roadmaps into concrete, practical, and inclusive actions aimed at strengthening collaboration and ensuring faster delivery of services to every Legazpeño.

Ma. Crestia Bañares, Bicol University professor and executive director of the Bicol Consortium for Regional Startup Enablers, also emphasized the need to create mechanisms that would allow start-ups to access capital funding.

She described start-ups as tech-driven, scalable, disruptive, and solutions-based businesses, noting that while Legazpi City is rich in talent, access to capital remains a major challenge.

ICYMI: Naga City has officially been declared the country’s 34th highly urbanized city under the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. The proclamation, signed on Wednesday, also makes Naga the first highly urbanized city in the Bicol Region.

The declaration came after the local government unit, led by Mayor Leni Robredo met the income and population requirements set under the Local Government Code of 1991.

In her speech, Mayor Robredo highlighted Naga City’s sustained growth and development, strong public participation, and commitment to good governance as key factors behind the milestone.

Nagbigay din ng impormasyon ang BSP kung paano makakaiwas sa financial fraud at scams tulad ng job scams, loan scams, phishing scams, at iba pa.

Ayon kay Atty. Maria Aurea Bo - Bunao, COMELEC Albay provincial election supervisor at Albay Communicators Network (ComNet) president, malaking tulong ang kanyang mga natutunan upang maiwasang mabiktima ng scams.

“Importante ito upang hindi tayo mabiktima ng scams at kung mabiktima man tayo, alam natin ang gagawin natin,” ani Bunao.

Ang Albay ComNet ay collaboration ng mga government information officers sa lalawigan ng Albay na pinangungunahan ng PIA Albay.

Layunin nitong pagtibayin ang pagpapalaganap ng mga programa, serbisyo, at impormasyon ng gobyerno.
