Drive Electric. Love Pinas., the partnership tour between the Department of Tourism and ACMobility, marked a major milestone as it convened with members of the motoring media at Bicol, who themselves were in the thick of the BYD All DM-i Drive. Sorsogon is an instrumental part of the leg as it serves as the gateway for electrified, island-wide exploration to push further South, even as the union of the electrified convoy and the media team signify that the infrastructure is ready for mainstream adoption. This momentous milestone marks the shift from solo adventuring to a collective drive towards sustainable mobility.

The Department of Tourism (DOT) Region V successfully concluded the 4-day Local Stakeholders’ Assessment and Validation Trip with a heartwarming Fellowship Night, hosted by the Provincial Government of Catanduanes on May 29, 2026, at Rakdell Inn, Virac.

This important milestone would not have been possible without the unwavering support, seamless coordination, and warm hospitality of all the Municipal Tourism Offices and their respective Local Government Units. We extend our deepest gratitude to the PLGU of Catanduanes for championing this initiative and ensuring the overall success of the local validation trip.

To our dedicated local validators—thank you for being with us every step of the way. Your tireless energy throughout four days of rigorous travel, coupled with your invaluable insights and thorough evaluations of Catandunganon gastronomy, are exactly what we need as we transition into the next exciting phase of the SIRAM Pagkaon Bikolnon project.

Together, we are elevating the flavors of the Happy Island.

Day 4 of our Local Stakeholders’ Assessment and Validation Trip (May 28, 2026) brought our team to the stunning remaining municipalities of Catanduanes for a taste of the island's culinary treasures.

📍 Pandan: Enjoyed a traditional kaluko food demo set against the scenic backdrop of Paraiso ni Honesto.
📍 Caramoran: Paired island hopping with a local lunch feast at the pristine Bitaog Beach in Palumbanes Island.
📍 San Andres: Delved into local heritage with a pinurunan food demo at Emmalyn’s Paradise Beach Resort.
📍LGU Virac: Ended on a sweet note with a closer look at the making of Impling’s Latik.

Our local validators have meticulously reviewed each delicacy to ensure they are perfectly primed for the grand launch. The flavors of Catanduanes are almost ready to be shared with the world!
