CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: BAGONG PILIPINAS MERIT SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM (BPMSP)
For Academic Year 2026–2027
The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Regional Office V is pleased to announce the opening of applications for the Bagong Pilipinas Merit Scholarship Program (BPMSP). This program aims to provide financial assistance to high-achieving Filipino students entering their first year of higher education.
WHO MAY APPLY?
Filipino Citizens who are incoming first-year college students;
Applicants belonging to the Top Five (5) of their graduating class OR with a minimum General Weighted Average (GWA) of 95% (or its equivalent) in Grade 12;
Applicants who have not earned any units or degree in tertiary education;
Applicants whose parents or legal guardians have a combined annual gross income not exceeding Two Million Pesos (Php 2,000,000);
Must be enrolled in CHED-identified priority programs.

Submit Documents: Upload scanned copies of the required documentary requirements (PSA Birth Certificate, Form 138/SF9, Proof of Income, etc.) through the portal.
APPLICATION PERIOD:
Applications will be accepted from April 30, 2026, until June 30, 2026, or until slots are available.
Interested and qualified applicants are encouraged to submit their requirements early as processing is on a first-come, first-served basis subject to the availability of slots.

𝗜𝗧’𝗦 𝗔 𝗪𝗥𝗔𝗣! The Commission on Higher Education Regional Office V through its Student Financial Assistance Programs (StuFAPS) Unit concluded the series of orientations for new beneficiaries of the CHED Merit Scholarship Program at Alvaro Rabina Hall-Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA) Auditorium in San Jose, Pili, Camarines Sur last October 24, 2025.

This event benefited both students and parents from Camarines Sur and Camarines Norte, as well as its organizers because of the engaging and meaningful discussions during the orientation. Among the talking points were rules and procedure of the program, submission of documentary requirements, processing of financial benefits, and the DEXUS Portal.

PHOTO HIGHLIGHTS: The CHED Regional Office V through the Scholarship Assistance and Grants-In-Aid Inclusive Programs (SAGIP) Center emphasized the importance of timely submission of documentary requirements for up-to-date processing of claims during the virtual orientation today, October 20, 2025.

The said event was attended by Catanduanes, Masbate, and outside the Region scholars as part of the series of orientation being conducted by the unit for new beneficiaries of the CHED Merit Scholarship Program.

INFORMED AND EQUIPPED. The Scholarship Assistance and Grants-In-Aid Inclusive Programs (SAGIP) Center of CHED Bicol successfully hosted an orientation for the new beneficiaries of the CHED Merit Scholarship Program in Albay and Sorsogon held today at Kaogma Hall of Proxy by the Oriental in Legazpi City.

This orientation aims to equip scholars with information regarding the policies and guidelines of the program to help them better understand their financial benefits and corresponding responsibilities to perform, from the processing of documentary requirements until its release either through direct payment or through schools concerned. Scholars may also monitor the process of their claims through the ledger in their DEXUS portal.

The Commission on Higher Education Regional Office V through the Scholarship Assistance and Grants-In-Aid Inclusive Programs (S.A.G.I.P) Center is pleased to announce the 47 new scholars of Scholarship Program for Coconut Farmers and their Families for Academic Year 2025-2026, from over 600 applicants across the Bicol Region.

Moreover, please be advised to await further communication regarding next steps. Additional details, including timelines and orientation, will be provided via email.

For those on the official list but have yet to submit their documents, this is your LAST and FINAL call.

All required documents for scholarship verification must be submitted by 5:00 PM tomorrow, August 29, 2025.

Failure to comply will result in forfeiture of your grant. Ensure your submission is complete and on time.

No extensions will be granted.

The Commission on Higher Education Regional Office V through the Scholarship Assistance and Grants-In-Aid Inclusive Programs (S.A.G.I.P) Center is pleased to officially announce the 243 new scholars of CHED Merit Scholarship Program for Academic Year 2025-2026, from a highly competitive pool of over 9,000 applicants across the Bicol Region.

To complete the verification process, please remember the following dates:
AUGUST 6-8, 2025 - Preparation of all required documents (Original or Certified as True Copy)
AUGUST 11-29, 2025 - Submission of physical copies (Original or Certified as True Copy) of the documents uploaded during online application
AUGUST 11-29, 2025 – Confirmation or acceptance of the Notice of Award

Please submit all required documents to the CHEDRO in a long brown envelope clearly labeled with your FULL NAME, CMSP APPLICATION NUMBER and PROVINCE. You may either deliver them in person or via courier. If you have questions about which documents to submit or how to submit them, feel free to contact us in this FB Page.
