The DILG recently released the DILG MC 2024-001 urging communities to participate in the National Launching of the KALINISAN (Kalinga at Inisyatiba para sa Malinis na Bayan) Program this Saturday, January 6, 2024.
The KALINISAN Program is a multi-stakeholder convergence initiative built on the spirit of bayanihan. Specifically, the program aims to raise public awareness, encourage our local government units (LGUs) to invest in programs, projects and activities (PPAs) that will establish the ideal type of healthy and safe environment for their constituents, and set up a rewards and recognition system for the cleanest barangays.
The various clean up activities shall commence from 07:00AM until 11:AM and will focus on the identified clean up sites within the barangays (e.g streets, canals, esteros, other waterways, public markets, schools, public parks and such other potential breeding areas of mosquitoes)
Corollary to this, the barangays are likewise enjoined to reactivate or revitalize their respective Halina't Magtanim ng Prutas at Gulay (HAPAG) Community Gardens during the activity.
