On July 30, 2026, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Albay, through its Project Development and Management Unit (PDMU), conducted a High-Impact Documentation of the Construction of Multi-Purpose Building in Barangay Caratagan, Pio Duran, Albay, funded under the Financial Assistance to Local Government Units โ Other Infrastructure (FA-OI) for Fiscal Year 2024.
With a national government subsidy amounting to โฑ10,000,000.00, the project involves the construction of a 20.5-meter by 31-meter covered multi-purpose building at San Lorenzo Academy, Barangay Caratagan. The facility is intended to provide a dedicated venue for school activities, community gatherings, and other programs that promote public participation and community development.
The activity was spearheaded by LGOO VI Joseph Romeo B. Raรฑeses, together with Engr. III Clint Borromeo, Engrs. II Annabel Espaรฑo-Oliquino and Kevin Kenneth Lapasaran, and PEO II Engr. Randy Catura, in coordination with the Municipal Engineering Office (MEO) of the Local Government Unit of Pio Duran.
Beyond the construction of a physical structure, this project represents an investment in opportunities for learning, collaboration, and community engagement. By providing a shared space for educational and public activities, the facility can help strengthen the partnership between the school and the community while supporting initiatives that benefit present and future generations. Through continuous monitoring and high-impact documentation, DILG Albay underscores the importance of translating government investments into infrastructure that serves real community needsโbuilding not only facilities, but also stronger, more connected, and more resilient communities.
