The Official Glance: DSWD Sustainable Livelihood Program - Liloy Cluster Participates in the 75th Araw ng Liloy, Zamboanga del Norte Province.
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) - Liloy Cluster actively participated in the 75th Araw ng Liloy, Zamboanga del Norte, through the “Sulong Dunong: Sibol Kabuhayan Expo,” a booth presentation and product showcase designed to promote the livelihood initiatives and enterprises of SLP Associations (SLPAs).
The activity provided an opportunity to showcase the diverse products produced by SLPAs from different municipalities, highlighting the creativity, skills, and entrepreneurial capacity of program participants. More importantly, the expo served as a platform to demonstrate that quality and marketable products are being produced locally through livelihood initiatives supported and funded by the DSWD-SLP, contributing to the program’s broader strategy for poverty reduction, economic empowerment, and sustainable livelihood development.
The Sulong Dunong: Sibol Kabuhayan Expo promoted SLPAs and their products by bringing them closer to consumers, potential partners, and the wider community. The showcase featured a wide range of food and non-food products.
The DSWD-SLP staff of the Liloy Cluster successfully participated in the activity, contributing to the promotion and facilitation of the product showcase. Beyond product display and selling, the event provided an avenue to strengthen the visibility of SLPAs and promote the value of supporting locally produced goods. The first day of the showcase generated total sales amounting to ₱8,202.00, demonstrating the market potential of the products and the growing interest of consumers in locally produced goods.
Sulong Dunong: Sibol Kabuhayan Expo served not only as a product showcase but also as a meaningful platform for empowering communities, promoting local enterprises, strengthening SLP Associations, and advancing sustainable livelihood opportunities. The successful participation of the DSWD-SLP in the 75th Araw ng Liloy underscores the importance of providing livelihood opportunities that enable associations and communities to become more productive, self-reliant, and economically resilient.
Ang SLP ay HINDI basta ayuda lang, it is a DEVELOPMENT.
