Student-Led School Watching & Hazard Mapping

Safety truly starts with each one of us, and being prepared is our best protection! Last July 23, 2026, guided by our SDRRM Focal Person Sir John Jissan Santos and under the leadership of our School Principal Dr. Sisa S. De Guzman, our dedicated SELG, YES-O, and BKD officers took the lead in our meaningful School Watching and Hazard Mapping activity. They carefully toured every corner of our campus to identify physical, environmental, and human-induced hazards, then created a detailed hazard map that pinpoints areas needing immediate attention and continuous monitoring.

This activity is truly vital because it empowers our learners to become active participants in disaster risk reduction rather than just passive observers; it builds awareness, fosters a shared sense of responsibility, and equips our school community with practical knowledge that can prevent accidents and save lives in times of emergency.

Beyond identifying risks, it cultivates a culture of safety, vigilance, and resilience that lasts far beyond the activity itself. We are incredibly proud of our student leaders for stepping forward and showing that every voice matters in disaster preparedness — your proactive efforts are making our school a safer, more secure place for everyone to learn and grow!

THIRD QUARTER NATIONWIDE SIMULTANEOUS EARTHQUAKE DRILL

Magsaysay Elementary School conducted the Third Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill on September 10, 2026 at 2:00 PM, in strict adherence to DepEd Official Memorandum No. OM-OUGOPS-2026-04-08938 dated February 18, 2026. This drill is vital because it builds life saving habits ensures proper response during actual emergencies and prepares every individual to act calmly and correctly when disaster strikes.

Pursuant to Memorandum Circular No. 135 from the Office of the President, the school observed Alternative Work Arrangements due to heavy rainfall and enhanced Southwest Monsoon Habagat. Even during the Learners Wellness Break our learners actively practiced Duck Cover and Hold at home with their families while teachers faculty and staff followed all safety and evacuation protocols.

We proudly recognize the dedication of our whole school community. True safety means being ready anywhere anytime regardless of circumstances!
