Amidst the affairs of the 2026 Region 1 Tourism Summit, the province officially received the award for its invaluable support and partnership with the DOT-R1 to promote tourism in the region across local and global initiatives from 2025 to 2026.

The Provincial Government of Pangasinan also received a plaque of appreciation for graciously hosting this year's summit from September 29th through October 1st, and providing an avenue through which the region can make strides into the digital future as one.

These plaques serve not only as ceremonial tokens, but as symbols that testify Pangasinan's unwavering commitment in promoting tourism in the region alongside the DOT-R1 for the past year. And with these awards, comes the unspoken promise of Pangasinan to continue its efforts in developing the industry---not merely in the province or the region, but the entire country.

The 2026 Region 1 Tourism Summit kicks-off at Lingayen, Pangasinan, bringing together tourism stakeholders, workers, LGUs, and industry partners from across the region.

Anchored on the theme โ€œDigital Agenda and Artificial Intelligence to Redesign Tourism,โ€ the three-day summit, from September 29 to October 1, explores how technology and AI can help reshape destinations and create new opportunities for the tourism industry.

Pangasinan Provincial Administrator Manuel โ€œMannyโ€ Luis Jr., representing Governor Ramon V. Guico III, emphasized that โ€œang teknolohiya ay katuwang, hindi kapalit, at wala dapat maiwan.โ€ He highlighted the importance of ensuring that small groups and emerging entrepreneurs are included in the regionโ€™s digital tourism journey.

Adding to the summit experience is the MSME Showcase and Pangasinan Food Heritage feature, highlighting the rich flavors, local products, and stories of communities across Region 1. The showcase features Slow Food Mangatarem and MSMEs from Pangasinan, La Union, Ilocos Sur, and Ilocos Norte.

Through the Green Canopy Program of the Provincial Government of Pangasinan, representatives from the Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office (PTCAO) planted 100 seedlings in Barangay Buneg, Pozorrubio, Pangasinan earlier today, September 25.

Headed by Ms. Maria Luisa Amor-Elduayan, the PTCAO worked alongside the Pozorrubio Workers and Employees Resource and Services Association (PWERSA) to plant different varieties of Philippine native and fruit-bearing trees.

Complementing this program is the initiative of the Municipality of Pozorrubio in promoting the development, conservation, and protection of municipal parks and green open spaces.

With that, this activity reflects the shared commitment in protecting nature, creating greener communities, and building a more sustainable future for Pangasinan.
