DAGUPAN CITY (PIA) — The sacrifices of Pangasinan’s World War II veterans continue to benefit succeeding generations as their grandchildren and great-grandchildren gain access to educational opportunities through the Philippine Veterans Affairs Office (PVAO) Educational Benefit (EB) program.

PVAO Field Service Office-Pangasinan head Sheryl Simeon said the program provides qualified descendants of World War II veterans with an opportunity to pursue their education in recognition of the veterans’ service and sacrifice for the country.

The educational benefit covers eligible school fees up to P60,000 per school year, subject to PVAO rules and requirements.

DAGUPAN CITY (PIA) — Veterans and their qualified family members in Pangasinan and other parts of the Ilocos Region can access a dedicated hospital facility at the Region 1 Medical Center (R1MC), according to the Philippine Veterans Affairs Office (PVAO).
PVAO Field Service Office-Pangasinan Head Sheryl Simeon said the 15-capacity Veterans Ward at R1MC was established to ensure that veterans needing confinement have a dedicated space instead of waiting for an available room or staying in hospital hallways.
“Hindi po sila mag-aantay na may available na kuwarto, because readily available po ‘yung Veterans Ward po natin,” Simeon said.

PVAO FSO-Pangasinan Head Sheryl Simeon said the satellite office remained operational despite inclement weather, ensuring uninterrupted services for veteran pensioners in Pangasinan.
The satellite office, located at Camp Tito Abat in Manaoag town, operates every first Wednesday of the month from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., providing the same services available at the Lingayen office, including assistance with applications, claims, benefits, and updating pensioner records.

03 September 2026: More than 155 PVAO pensioners were assisted through the PVAO FSO-Pangasinan Satellite Office in Manaoag.
Despite the inclement weather and the implementation of an Alternative Work Arrangement (AWA) in Lingayen, FSO-Pangasinan made the Manaoag Satellite Office operational to ensure the continued delivery of services to pensioners from the 4th, 5th, and 6th Districts of Pangasinan.
With flooding affecting major roads and thoroughfares leading to Lingayen, particularly routes through Calasiao, bringing our services closer to our pensioners became even more important.
The turnout of more than 155 pensioners underscores the importance of maintaining accessible service points, especially during circumstances when travel to the main Field Service Office becomes difficult.
Rain or shine, PVAO FSO-Pangasinan remains committed to bringing its programs and services closer to our veterans, pensioners, and their families. 🇵🇭
