The UBLC was also able to extend the activity to the outside community through the assistance of the Community Extension Service by inviting selected elementary students from Sto. Toribio Elementary School to participate in the session.

Their presence added energy to the discussion and provided young learners an early opportunity to engage with stories, ideas, and the value of reading. Thank you for your participation, and welcome to UBLC!

Other highlights from yesterday’s Author’s Engagement Program for Junior High School and Senior High School students, held as part of the initiatives of the UB Learning and Resource Center to support reading and literacy.

The program featured Ms. Zarah C. Gagatiga, an award-winning Filipino author, teacher-librarian at Beacon Academy, storyteller, literacy coach, and advocate of children’s literature. She shared insights on storytelling, the value of reading, and how literature helps young readers build creativity and understanding.

In between the activities, our University Mascot, Brahmmy, led an icebreaker dance that added energy to the session and encouraged student participation.

The activity provided students with a meaningful opportunity to connect with literature and learn directly from a Filipino author.

Happening Now: As part of our continuous commitment to promoting reading and literacy, the University of Batangas Lipa City is currently hosting an inspiring Author’s Engagement Program for Senior High School and Junior High School students.
